Strict 3pm check-in but there is luggage storage if you arrived early. Room is very hot and no thermostat to adjust. Building and rooms are showing their age. Small bathtub with slippery bottom. Located in between two subway stops and there is a bit of walking - okay in the morning but not so much in the evening after a day of going places, or if you are hauling luggage.

"Best hotel in my trip to JP"

10.0

I really liked this hotel. Staff was super polite and gentle, the hotel is beautiful and clean, it even has some vending machines inside, which is great so you don't have to go outside to buy some beverages. Best breakfast I had in JP. The continental and the Japanese one. The location is good, but you have to walk some blocks to get to the subway. It's in front of one of the Imperial Palace's entries. It's in a residential area so you can see people living their lives while walking on the streets around. It was a good experience, I really enjoyed it and recommend it. If I ever get to return to Kyoto, I would certainly stay in this hotel.

Staff were kind and helpful. Loved the location across the road from the Imperial Palace. Subway not too far and bus stops close. Great vintage shop up the road and many art galleries must check their times as not all open at 10 o’clock. Overall a great experience.

"Nice place, shame about the breakfast."

6.0

Nice room, fairly nice view, no problems. However, the breakfast was really disappointing. Considering how much money we paid to stay here, it was way too small and the food and drink on offer was seriously limited. No green tea! We’re in Kyoto! Plus, the cups for tea were so small I couldn’t have a decent cup of tea. The salad had tinned corn in it etc. Lovely garden view in the restaurant, but they should offer a buffet style considering the price. I left feeling hungry, cheated and disappointed. A shame really as the hotel itself is quite nice and I’d recommend it other than the rubbish meal.

"Just the language"

8.0

Over all this is great, But for a touristic way of view or mine, its you have to speak more english please, in my mother country it is standard in the turistic areas, it is Hard to comunnicate, the Room is great, big, compared to others in this country, a few steps of the imperial garderns, and about 10 min walk for the subway, quick check in , great service people, very helpful overall all, Just it is dificult to speak with them, great bec very comfortable,

"Great Place! & Conveniently Located"

8.0

The hotel was very quiet. The room was great, except that if the key was in the slot by the door, all lights were on and none could be turned off; if they key was not in the slot, all lights were off and none could be turned on, nor could my electronics charge (i.e., they couldn't charge overnight). Staff was great; one staff member knew enough English to help me with getting a taxi the next morning and telling the driver where I needed to go. Breakfast was good. I love that the Japanese like heated toilet seats (that even worked when the electrical outlets didn't work-LOL) and have bidets. They also provided shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and a kimono to wear. Very nice!

"Wonderful Kyoto hotel"

10.0

Because of disabilities,I requested a barrier-free room to share with my granddaughter for a conference, and we got a very large room. Service was excellent, even when the employees didn't understand much English. They were kind, patient, and eager to help. I saw no one smoking within the hotel the entire week we were there. Beds were clean and very comfortable. It is located right across from the beautiful Imperial Palace site. Lots of temples and restaurants within walking distance.

"Very satisfied."

Everything was great, except that I would have preferred the breakfast serving begin at 06:30 instead of 07:00.
