Hotel Helvetia

Absolutely adored this little hotel. Right on the Main Street and it had a lovely atmosphere. Small and functional room with a communal balcony. Perfect for our one night stay. Decent breakfast in the morning too

It was convienent for a one night stay in Zermatt. The room is tight. The breakfast was good.

This 2star room is in a perfect location. We had large bags and it was only a 5 minute walk to the Hotel from the train station. Check in was " our key" on a board with our name listed in the entrance. Worked for us. We were fortunate to have a room on the first floor which involved some stairs. Would not of liked to drag our large suitcases up to the upper floors. Stairway very narrow. Washroom small but totally recently upgraded. Good water pressure, comfortable beds but do need to upgrade pillows. The continental breakfast was great. Very nice restaurant which is bellow the rooms. Once you exit the hotel you are on the main street in the heart of the area.

Great location in the center of town. Restaurant downstairs is excellent. Family suite was perfect for 4 people.

The location is very convenient but it is also above a bar which must stay open until 5am on weekends (not sure about during the week). Makes it a bit hard to sleep with the noise. Also note it is up a couple of flights of stairs with no elevator. There is no front desk, they just leave a key on a peg board for you. This is basically a worn out budget hotel. The bed was actually comfortable. Internet was a bit spotty. Overall if you can afford another hotel I would suggest not staying here, but if you plan to party all night this is a perfect choice.

The checkin was poorly communicated. There is no one doing check in property very dated bed was uncomfortable sink was plugged. Overall very disappointing .

I was traveling with my sister. We are aged 71 & 72. The hotel had no lift. We climbed 7 flights o very narrow stairs. We each had 2 suitcases. The room had heat only in the bathroom. Only one light in the bathroom. There was NO water in the bathtub and shower. We had 3 days of bathing in the sink. The plugs for charging phones etc were up by the ceiling. There was one blanket for 2 people. TV did not work. No refrigerator. We set bottled drinks on the outside windowsill to keep them cool. The church tower was outside the room, beautiful, however the bells rang every 15 minutes. The absolute worst was not having a lift. I would rate the experience as a zero star but zero star is not an option!!!!!

The Hotel Helvetia was perfect for my short stay in Zermatt. I had read many of the previous reviews so I was prepared. The hotel is a short 5 minute walk from the train station, there is no elevator and my room was quite small but had a balcony overlooking the street filled with people. The hotel is surrounded by shops and restaurants. This hotel was quite reasonably priced and in a great location.
