Hotel Helvetia

Location is convenient and close to all areas of interest. Bars and restaurants are connected an in the property. Let’s left with Italian restaurant staff, rude to say the least. In the center of the town. The hotel was under construction, the room was not even properly label (no number on the door). Plywood was left along the stairs to the rooms. No elevator so take note if you can’t climb. Some of the rooms are next to washing mashing so be aware. It was ok for a night and we had a view of the Matterhorn.

This was an all around terrible experience. No front desk staff available during check in. The key was left hanging on a hook. Called to get another blanket and was told I could only have 3 per room, but we had 4 people sleeping in the room. If we wanted a blanket we would have to put in an email request 24 hours prior. We would have been checked out by that point. Needless to say we had to leave 2 people to stay in that room and the other two people paid for another room in a different hotel. The person who answered the phone kept saying no to everything and was extremely rude on the phone. Customer service was just nonexistent. The price was too high for a hotel that was a 1 star at best. The walls were paper thin and you could hear the cleaning staff yelling at guests. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs. I would have preferred to sleep with the cows than here ever again.

Great hotel, balcony over the street with lovely views. Unfortunately, it’s situated beside a very noisy couple of pubs which stay open late. We stayed on a Friday, so if you stay here, expect lots of noise if staying over a weekend even in the street long after pubs have closed. Ear plugs work wonders! 👍

Absolutely lovely! Family suite was perfect for our family of 5. Breakfast was delicious. Location was AMAZING! We had a wonderful stay!

Great location in main street, easy walk to train station. Close to everything in Zermatt. Hotel has a nice restaurant and a basic breakfast. We used the family room which was quite big and spacious with a bedroom queen bed, kitchen/dinette, a lounge with 2 beds and a large lounge, and bathroom with shower in bath tub. Downside you can't use kitchen unless you pay 100CHF extra on arrival per stay. Also no curtain in bathroom with looks into a garden restaurant (glass is frosted though) Overall a nice place to stay in Zermatt.

Really great view of the town from my balcony. Right in the town center with easy access to shops and restaurants! Room was perfect for my needs.

Great location in the middle of town

Clean, comfortable and right in the middle of town, with ski rentals across the street. Fit the bill for a great stay!

Friendly lady boss reception and housekeeping. Clean pillows and bed linens. Good water pressure with warm water for showing. WiFi working well. Hotel is a little old and dated and in need of some maintenance but otherwise we had a comfortable stay and it was value for money.
