Railay Village Resort & Spa

The location is great and the staff are friendly. We have a room at the far end off this beautiful pool. They have lounge chairs for about 3 people for 12 rooms. The TV doesn't work for all channels and the staff was not helpful (it took two calls before they came and one channel worked and they were satisfied until we said "no", it's not enough. But the staff person left without fixing it). We had dinner at their restaurant and realized this is a Muslim establishment which does not serve liquor. You can order liquor if you wish but they did not understand our request and sent another staff person (you pay for liquor separately) to order it. As a tourist destination it lacks too many things.

Grounds and landscaping are absolutely beautiful. We saw the giant monitor lizard on the property—so cool! Rooms are nice.

Rooms were not practical for multi-day stays — very little storage, no hooks. Took multiple requests to have dirty towels replaced. Restaurant service at dinner for our (admittedly large) group was a mess. Breakfast buffet was meh. Unfortunately Railay has become an overcrowded tourist trap — the “hidden” beach is lovely but the beach outside the hotel is packed with daytrippers and noisy with boats. We were there Dec 26-30. Everywhere we went we shuffled along like cattle with the herd. This place has changed dramatically over the last 15 years and not for the better imo.

This was the venue we chose for our wedding. Chantima and the team really went above and beyond to make sure that everything was perfect on the day of the ceremony and also helped us with all of the paperwork we had to do in Thailand. The staff were warm, friendly and super professional. We can't wait to come back and celebrate in the future. We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.
