Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Ottawa Starved Rock Area

I got to my room and noticed pills or vitamins loose on the floor by the bed. Shower head looked rusty and didn’t have great flow. Breakfast was average…eggs were watery. People were friendly and helpful. That makes up for some things, but overall, didn’t seem to match up with the price.

The staff was friendly. Especially Brian. We had issues with the TV remote but he came by to fix the problem.

The room was superficially clean. The pillowcases were clean, but the pillows smelled bad. There were handprints on the headboard from the previous visitors.

The bed and pillows were some of the best I have found in hotels. Just like the ones at home! The area was clean and for the most part, quiet.

Manager was able to switch my room so I could have bathtub which was requested, appreciated his help.

Traveled 15 hours to a reserved hotel ready to crash only to be told we can’t be checked in because there was a power outage earlier. I couldn’t believe it. There were 20 cars in the parking lot. I’d already payed for the room with points. They were deducted from my account already. I was told they couldn’t get into the rooms even though the power was on. I was told there’s no way to get into the rooms. I find that hard to believe in case there was an emergency. Be exhausted, I wasn’t asking for much. It gets a little annoying being told thank you for being a titanium elite member but we’re sorry. That means a whole lot. Drove an hour and a half more to Davenport. Got to bed at 12:30 am. By the way, I’d appreciate my points being added back to my account. Don’t need a response. I’ve already heard it. Richard Fox

Noisy ac though the night, unbearably loud shower nozzle made horrible noises. Staff was friendly and helpful.
