Burleigh House

This is the place to be if you are lusting after a proverbial, English B&B with a familial touch. In my opinion, it's the proper way to do Torquay. Keep in mind, it's not a hotel, but a B&B, so there are shared bathroom facilities. Staff are extremely nice and helpful. Overall, it was lovely and I feel like I have a home away from home now next time I come to Torquay.

The Guest House met our needs in every way. Welcoming and friendly staff, great food and comfortable, spacious rooms with excellent facilities. Easy to recommend.

The room was clean and tidy; the breakfast was to my liking. A ten minute bus service from the stop right outside the b & b was a great help in gaining access to the town centre

I've stayed here before and you are always made to feel welcome,I was slightly disappointed this time due to recent wood glossing that I wasn't made aware of before booking in. It was quite strong and gave me a sore throat of which I still have now. This sort of thing wouldn't effect everyone, but it did me. I would return as I know this wouldn't always be an issue, I would have just like to be made aware so I could have changed bookings on this occasion.

The owners of Burleigh House made us welcome with a pot of tea on arrival. Our bedroom was spacious and comfortable with en suite bathroom/shower and toilet plus small TV and tea/coffee making facilities. Everywhere was very clean. The breakfast menu offered a wide range of hot options plus tea/coffee, cereals and toast - a really nice English Breakfast. A bus stop just outside offers easy connections to Torquay town centre and sea front/harbour, Paignton, Brixham and Newton Abbot. There is a car park to the rear of Burleigh House so we would recommend leaving your car there and taking the bus - parking in Torquay is often difficult and almost always expensive. If one has a large car then one can park at the front of the property (one space) or on the road outside. It is also easy to walk to Torquay town centre or sea front. All together a great stay with friendly hosts.

The hosts of this B&B are two of the friendliest people you will ever meet. They were also very helpful in planning our visit. Breakfast in the morning is superb to start your day. We walked to the waterfront in about 25 min but you can just as easily grab a bus right outside the front door. Our room was a bit smaller than what we were expecting with two huge luggages but the bathroom is a great size and very clean.
