Hotel Le Grand Chalet Gstaad

An absolutely fantastic stay at this wonderful hotel. Service was great, the staff really friendly and the hotel was just perfect. The rooms were spacious and look much better than on the website. The breakfast had alot of choice and from the restaurant there was a beautiful view over Gstaad. A 15 minute walk into town was just right but there was also a shuttle bus if needed. Thoroughly recommended

Staying at Le Grand Chalet was a delight. We had been upgraded to include large seating area, large balcony and a view of the valley that's was breath taking. Breakfast was a large choice buffer with all the typical Swiss options. We would recommend dining at the hotel, the food was the best and at around 60 euros if eating off the half board menu was excellent value at Swiss prices. Only one small drawback, the hotel is situated high on the hill-side and unless you are part mountain goat it's a long walk on a steep hill. However the hotel staff will come and collect you with a smile and at no additional cost, which we used an four occasions.

Hotel is nice situation in the hill-side (need 4x and snow chains in wintertime to drive all the way to the hotel. Staff were superb - all our questions were addressed immediately. Food in the restaurant is excellent but a bit price ( note that the hotel does offer special deal for staying guests). Only downside is that the hotel allows people to smoke on the balcony of the rooms and unfortunately we stayed next to a couple who seem to spend the whole time from morning to evening smoking Area wise - most of the cable cars/ lifts only opens in July - so if you arrive earlier - expect some steep hikes.

Fully deserving of its high ranking, Le Grand Chalet scores on all fronts: rooms, service, food, condition, and area. The service was impeccable, from maid service to pick-up and drop-off at the ski areas, as well as the handling of special requests. The dining room serving French cuisine is one of the best in the region, and the wine list is one of the best not just in Gstaad, but all of Switzerland. Not to be missed is the breakfast buffet.

Magnificent views and 1st rate food. Room very clean and comfortable.

Very nice staff, but the hotel is very isolated. Rooms are comfy but quite basic, a touch modernity would be appreciated.
