"Noise room"

6.0

No check in desk. You have to just stand there awkwardly watching people eat until someone notices you. My room was facing the main road and the traffic noise was horrendous, the room is very light due to a green LED present in the emergency light above the door. I managed 4 hrs sleep which is very poor.

"Very enjoyable stay."

10.0

We had a lovely five night stay. The hotel and room were very comfortable, the staff friendly and attentive. They have a nice restaurant with a good selection of dishes on the menu, and they do a wonderful 'Scottish Breakfast' enough to keep you going all day!

"Night out"

The room was ok. It was cold later at night and no heating was on. The shower had mould growing around the inside of the cubicle.

"Great value for your money."

8.0

Unusual reception desk in this busy local hotel, service was quick and we were shown to our room. Nothing fancy but quite comfortable, the bed was really comfortable with no noise from the busy bar below, filtering up to the room. Lovely breakfast next morning to start the day. All in all, great value for Edinburgh, would recommend.

"Warm welcome"

10.0

I really enjoyed staying here - but you should maybe note that this is rather like a traditional inn than a hotel: restaurant and bar with a few rooms above and no dedicated hotel staff, but rooms managed on the side. I travelled with 2 dogs and this was the first place I stayed were they were actually welcomed rather than just tolerated. Non-food staff showed interest in them, gave them cuddles and they got treats on check-in and check-out, as well as when I received my food order in the bar area (dogs allowed in bar, not in restaurant), and water bowls were promptly brought over without me having to ask for it. The room was huge and comfortable, with a couch and coffee table and a big window. Although right above the busy bar, the room was surprisingly quiet. Just 10 min walk from Haymarket station and all the action, but right at the Leith Water walkway which goes on for miles and is perfect for walking the dogs (or taking the scenic route into town). Great atmosphere in the bar, many locals, and handy late-night shops within a few hundred yards. Lots of little touches like a wooden alarm clock and shoe-shine pads in the room. Reliable and fast Wifi. Great experience.

Having just attended a funeral tea, the Hampton was convenient for our stay and was very comfortable. It is quite small but very cosy and the staff very friendly

"Will stay again"

10.0

Lovely place, nice pub, good standard pub food and drinks. Hotel room was spacious (more than I was expecting), and the bed was very large and comfortable. I had no problems, and the staff accomodated for my early check out at 5am by allowing me to pay the night before, which was very helpful. Thanks again.
