Cala Lodge

No TV in the room. But otherwise this is an excellent choice for staying in Santa Elena. Easy access to Monteverde, plenty of restaurants walking distance, souvenir shops, coffee shops, tourist information and tours.

The family suit we stayed is absolutely nice and with a beautiful view from every window. This lodge and their surrounding area looked much nicer than what looks on the picture. The breakfast was also very nice and the breakfast area is very beautiful, we saw some very pretty birds while eating breakfast. Also there are several nice restaurants within the walking distance from the property.

We really enjoyed our stay here - rustic, clean, well maintained, big rooms, nice shower. Enjoyed breakfast.

Our stay at Cala lodge was lovely - although we did upgrade for a small fee to a much better room with a balcony and wonderful forest view. The standard room was a bit too small and basic, but it didn’t cost much to upgrade for our second night and the staff were happy to let us do this! The views from this place are amazing and the surroundings really make it special.

Lovely stay in the cloud forest. Amazing place to stay for forest adventures and wildlife. Access was a bit tricky with our hire car though. Roads to Monteverde can be hard going without a 4 x 4.

Cala Lodge was a wonderful secluded stay in the mountains. Breakfast was lovely each morning, with omelettes made to our requests, along with fresh seasonal fruits - all while overlooking the beautiful cloud forests, viewing the occasional coatimundi, aguti, mot-mot, and other exotic animals visit the hotel garden. The forest walk in the property is also an added bonus.

Nice place to stay, close to restaurants and tours, The room was fine, with a pretty view of the mountains, breakfast fine as well.

The lodge was great, and everyone working there was fantastic. Breakfast was included and superb, and the view was wonderful. It felt a little cramped though, both that the room was quite small, as well as you're in a small space with a lot of other people. All of our windows were right onto the walkways, we could hear people going up and down the stairs all night and walking above us. The other amenities were great, but it was just a bit noisier than I would've liked.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. Our room was wonderful and we observed lots of wildlife right from our patio. The breakfast was great and the location was easy to get around to other adventures. We highly recommend the Cala Lodge.

Loved the breakfast with hummingbird and Mot Mots. Great location. Spacious. Great place to chill after seeing some amazing stuff.
