"Loy Krathong/Yi Peng in Chiang Mai"

6.0

The rooms we booked were huge and beds comfortable. The manager was accommodating and very accurate about the details of the festival we were interested in enjoying. The kids enjoyed the swimming pool and felt really relaxed with the resort ambiance as we had a long train ride from Bangkok. Free shuttles were provided on schedule and rides are comfortable. It is a very far from the city, the taxi costs back and forth to the resort is equivalent to a one night hostel stay in the center of the city. Not to mention, the time it took (almost more than an hour, two-way combined.) Very few staff speak good English and breakfast is not impressive, if not cold. The fresh fruits were a real delight, though. The restaurant serve good Thai food for lunch and dinner, albeit a little expensive. The value for money is not high for us. Other hotels in the city center might be more favorable for family.

"Good"

6.0

We stayed here for one night, we were very pleased with the property and the rooms. However, we weren't notified of their policy regarding ordering food. I ordered coffee and fruits for breakfast, reception charged to my hotel bill. During check out, I was charged more for my meal. I wasn't told that I had to spend a certain amount of money in order to avoid the additional fee. Manager explained it was policy, I stated that I wasn't told that, and that should have been explained to me. However, manager wouldn't budge.

"Loved this place. "

10.0

Booked online at an amazing price. Stayed for four days and enjoyed this place immensely. Rooms were clean, beds were comfortable, staff was friendly, and the pool was nice. It's not on the river, but about 3.5 km from the old city and at the end of a road, really quiet location compared to others. Have to say the gentleman who greets you is incredible! Came back late one night and he was still there (never goes home?!) We had a flight in the early afternoon and we discussed departure times, he helped us decide when to leave. In the morning, I'm headed to get breakfast and he's already ordered the taxi! This guy was super helpful and incredible! Would recommend this to others.

"Great little boutique hotel in a quiet location"

8.0

Stayed in the Penthouse #999 for 3 nights with our family of four (2 adults and 2 kids ages 10 and 8) and really enjoyed it. Small property in a quiet location but still close to everything. The first morning there was a wonderful breakfast buffet, but could only order off the small menu the other 2 mornings which was disappointing, as apparently they only offer the buffet during higher occupancy. The small pool area was very nice and the setting is very pretty. You can order food and drinks inside the restaurant for them to bring out to you though they do not have servers at the pool. Hotel room was perfect for our family, as they're 2 rooms separated by a small kitchen so we still had privacy from the children. Mattresses are quite firm like most hotels in Thailand, but comfortable. Very large sitting area in the master bedroom, huge vaulted ceilings, large closet and master bathroom, spacious second bedroom and second bathroom as well. Beautiful views towards the mountains from the large picturesque windows. A bonus was having a large terrace off the entry of the unit to enjoy more of the city views (and moon in the evening). The hotel was able to arrange 2 massage therapists to come to the room each day (on short notice was fine) for Thai massages which was wonderful- really fabulous therapists who gave us 2 hour massages on the floor in our suite and would highly recommend this unique style of therapy. We had pre-arranged zip lining and elephant farm tours ourselves prior to our arrival which we'd highly recommend. The staff is so lovely but only a few we encountered spoke much English so it would have been quite challenging to use them for concierge type services. (On that note, we'd highly recommend Patara Elephant Farm and Eagle Track Zipline tours). Since this property is a little out of town, we were picked up last and dropped off first by the zip lining company, as this hotel is closer to this activity than other hotels in the center of Chiang Mai. It was very easy for us to get to the markets, as they were an enjoyable and scenic 15 minute cab ride from the hotel. I'd also recommend printing out directions to the hotel to take with you for the cab drivers. The hotel can be a bit hard to find, but tell them it's by the convention center and most drivers know where it is (again, just carry the directions to avoid confusion). The property is small and not overly luxurious but for the very large suite we had in this price point, it was perfect for our family. We liked this property and would return.

"Peaceful hotel with great ambiance. "

The hotel was in a remote location and surrounded by mountains. Very charming, comfortable and peaceful. Far away from city center but a good place if you want to get away from city life and be around nature.

"Resort for local folk"

6.0

Location is pretty far out from the airport and the old city. The resort and facilities are pretty. However, much of the facility is not inspected before folk check in. The air conditioner was broken in the Executive suite. The staff was helpful about trying to fix it and upgraded us to the penthouse. The wooden floors are dangerously slippery. We were traveling with my in-laws who are 83 years old. We could not risk staying here and moved to Holiday Inn. The fitness equipment is old and was mostly broken. The elliptical machine was not working and the treadmill kept speeding up dangerously fast.

"Nice secluded hotel, needs some plumbing upgrades"

4.0

This hotel is away from the crowds, but only 10 minutes to the action near the Maya mall, and about 20 minutes from the old city. The hotel is showing it's age, but still a nice getaway. The family suites were large, clean and spacious. The pool was refreshing and central. The food and drinks we ordered were quite disappointing, I'd recommend eating elsewhere. Our biggest complaint is our first room toilets and one of the AC did not work. We did get a nice free upgrade, which was a nice gesture, however the master bathroom smelled terrible, likely from the sewage system. This did not sit well with us and unfortunately tainted the entire hotel. We did see others complaints online about this, and we can confirm, it's true. They did have one lady at front desk with amazing English and she was very helpful and apologetic, with a great understanding of customer service
