Corbie Geel

Good location. Good local amenities.

I stayed at the Corbie for a week whilst on business, back in February. At around 130euros per night, it was somewhat on the expensive side (admittedly I had booked fairly last minute, though..). The Corbie looks great from the front, but is more motel than hotel when you look from the back! Positives --------- - Very central, right on the square in central Geel. - Plenty of bars, restaurants, takeaways and shops just a stone's throw away. - Fantastic breakfast with great choice. - Spacious room with cooking facilities. - Modern 'funky' looking reception / breakfast area. - Useful on site vending machines. - Easily walkable from Geel station. Negatives --------- - Full payment taken on check-in (maybe I looked dodgy??) - Room was very basic, including very cheap furnishings, uncomfortable bed and poor lighting. Everything was also fairly worn.. - Strange bathroom glass arrangement, whereby anyone else in the room can see right in! - Zero soundproofing meaning you get to hear pretty much everything from all surrounding rooms (including bathrooms) and the corridor. For the odd night or 2 and at the right price, I would probably stay again (especially if arriving late), however for longer periods I would choose elsewhere. Geel does get very booked up and there are very few hotels, so book early or be prepared to stay in another town.

Stayed here during very hot weather. The hotel was nice & arty but the rooms were lacking. I stayed on the top floor & the rooms were so hot. There was a little desk fan supplied that was set to the fastest setting whenever I was in the room but still didn't make it very comfortable. The rooms were bigger than a lot of other European rooms but that was the only bonus. Breakfast in the morning was ok but didn't offer to much variety. Good location in the town market square with a few restaurants & bars nearby. There is paid parking on the ground floor of the hotel, behind the lobby, accessed from a laneway behind the hotel.

Good hotel right in the centre where there are plenty of places to eat/drink. Only negative is the walls are pretty thin and you can hear your neighbours movements.

Very good business hotel. Very central location, still quiet room. Nice restaurants and bars next door.

Plentiful breakfast, with fresh orange juice. The room is nice, could have a small kitchen when you choose the bigger one). No restaurant at the hotel, but there are a lot around the market place, less than 5min walking

Séjour d'une nuit très agréable. Hôtel très bien situé en centre ville avec parking couvert. Chambre propre et confortable. Petit déjeuner très bon et complet. A recommander

was a nice hotel, liked the staff but the hotel room was a bit outdated and not sound proof. Other than that the breakfast was simple and nice. Good stay, great location.

I have stayed in this hotel before. Now it has been remodeled and the whole town square is beautiful. I would stay there again
