Casa de Mama Cusco 2-The Ecohouse

Just as many describe, the room and property were clean and relatively quiet. You get a clean room and bathroom at a very inexpensive price. Please note, there are no "extras", as you would expect in a traditional hotel chain. You get a nice room, nice bed(s), bathroom, towel, and soap. BYO hairdryer, shampoo, etc. "Mama" was very gracious and accommodated us, as well as possible. We had chosen this place because we were arriving back in Cuzco late evening and flying out at 5:30am the following morning. Spending $150 for 6 hours of accommodations didn't seem frugal. The hotel was a mile from the airport and met basic needs. This place is an excellent choice for someone on a tight budget, who just needs some basic accommodations. Note: It did take a little hunting to find the place at night. Even local transportation had a little difficulty finding the place. Fortunately, Google maps did a fair job of pinpointing the location.

the staff is very friendly, and mama the owner is a special lady. i would stay there again.

We had a very warm welcome with a cup of coca tea. The room was big, but not too clean. We didn't dare to take a shower (too many hairs there). The breakfast was basic (another hair in my scrambled egg), but I guess it's ok just for spending a night in order to get some rest before further journey.

Rooms offer amenities like cooking and refrigerator but could be repainted and remove waters spotting.

The staff was quite nice and the rooms were okay. They were quite dusty and the showers were sad. However, for Cuzco...it was okay. The price seemed a little high for the property, but wasn't bad. The neighborhood is out of the main area, so not really convenient for sightseeing. It is also difficult to find, initially. There is NO signage, except a small placard on the door. Don't expect too much, and you won't be disappointed. Humble, but okay.

While this isn't the most upmarket hotel around we throughly enjoyed out stay. The rooms were simple, clean and comfortable. The staff were all very polite and friendly which makes you feel right at home. It was also close enough for us to walk into the popular tourist areas and markets which we did most days

I arrived at 4:00 a.m in the morning.. And the lady was nice enough to guide through not spending more than 5 minutes checking in and a decent personalized breakfast at 10.00 from another lady. Clean rooms.. I will stay again if I visit Cusco. It's close to visiting spots. Good luck !!

good = spacious room for what we paid for. clean and nice staff. good wifi speed. not good = no hot water, very basic breakfast just bread, jam and one egg everyday ...

We liked the family friendly atmosphere at the hotel. We met genuine caring folks who obviously took pride in doing a great job.

We stayed 2 nights. Everything was great. We left our backpack in the storage room during Inca Trail for free. The owner miss Mercedes treated us like family. The location is 20 min walking to the Plaza de Armas so maybe could be a problem for some people.
