"Good"

8.0

Very friendly hotel, helped us book some trips at a good price. Breakfast is very basic, just eggs and bread with butter and jam but was still very nice. We also got a free airport pick up which was nice, and they kept our bags safe when we did the 4 day Inka Trail.

"Casa de Mama Cusco 2 - quiet and individual"

6.0

The location is a bit removed from the main action, which can be great or a pain depending on what you want. The neighbourhood has fantastic seafood restaurants where the locals go for lunch. The rooms are basic but fair for the price. The owners are proud locals who encourage their guests to enjoy cusco with some cultural sensitivity.

"EXCELLENT SERVICE and Centrally located"

It was a bargain for the price we paid for the room. Mercedes provided excellent service. She picked us up and helped to arrange side trips. I would stay at Casa de Mama if I visit Cusco again.

"Casa de mama - is just that - mother's house!"

10.0

My daughter Caitlin and I were treated like one of the family. Mercedes, mama, was so helpful and caring, that she truly can be called Mama. Her effort to ensure our experience in peru was nothing short of fantastic was well above our expectations! A real, hot breakfast and tea anytime of day was also an unexpected treat. Her staff was equally pleasant and attentive. Mama has truly created an unbeatable value in the hotel market. We wish all hotel stays could be this pleasurable!

"Little hidden gem of Cuzco"

10.0

Great place, they make you feel like you are staying with friends or family. Staff is very nice and helpful. It is not in the best touristy part of town, but you can walk to the city center in 10-15 minutes or get a cab for 4-5 soles. Very quiet, which you will not likely to find in the downtown. Mercedes, the manager will personally drive to meet you at the airport, make sure you confirm the flight with her.

"Casa de Mama Cusco In Cusco"

10.0

Really friendly staff, very well appointed rooms, and a generally relaxed and nice atmosphere. They are willing to pick you up from the airport if you get into contact with them beforehand, which is very useful, because whilst it is very close to the airport and within walking distance normally, Cusco is at 3300m altitude and for first time visitors with luggage it could perhaps be a bit more difficult. It's a little difficult to find the front door at night for the first time if you left during the day so it is worth really making sure that you know the name of the street it's on (Avenide Infancias 548) and checking some local landmarks so that you know where to get your taxi driver to stop.

"very friendly & genuine family run hostel"

10.0

Mamma and staff went out of their way to ensure we had the perfect Cusco experience. Extremely helpful. Location is great with all you need close by including the Macchu Picchu ticket (& bus) office up the street as well as Peru Rail on the next block (5min walk). 2 markets close by - within 2 blocks / 5 to 10min walk as well as good street food vendors. The hostel has a convenience shop on the street front. The hostel is quiet / good for sleeping except..... you could as you know, encounter other hostel guests who have no regard for anyone else when they get ready & leave very early in the morning for the Macchu Picchu train... unfortunately this happened to us twice in our total 7 day stay..... woken up by disrespectful, loud americans... The bathrooms are a good size with hot water and the hostels breakfast consists of juice, tea/coffee, bread, scrambled eggs and jam. Not our thing but did try on our first morning and it was fresh / hot / tasty. Internet worked well in both of the rooms we stayed in (before & after we went to Macchu Picchu). Remember to take all the usual precautions with the altitude. If you require a Doctor / Clinic there is one just down the street. We would definately stay here again. Thank you to Mamma & family!!!

"Young traveler finds comfort far from home"

10.0

My teenage son, traveling with a group in Peru, had a few days to himself in Cuzco. As a parent, researching accommodations from my computer, thousands of miles away, was delighted to find Casa de Mama and the warmth and kindness that I felt from the manager! My son was tired and concerned as he first saw the outside of the Casa but discovered his room was very nice, clean, comfortable and said that he would highly recommend it to others!

"Casa de Mama Cusco 2"

10.0

I would highly recommend this hotel to any traveller needing friendly, affordable and comfortable accomodation in Cusco. The hotel itself is situated near the lower end of the Avenida del Sol, within walking distance to the centre but if you don't like walking from the centre of town then taxis are so cheap that it's hardly a problem. The rooms are spacious and clean with ample hot water. The beds are comfortable with thick, soft pillows and plenty of covers. The neighbourhood is safe and secure, even late at night. The real star of this hotel is the owner, Mercedes, who goes out of her way to ensure that visitors stays are comfortable and enjoyable. She speaks near perfect english and her german is very good too. Nothing is too much for her, after picking us up from the airport she welcomed us with tea to help with altitude sickness, she arranged tours for us, made sure we were accompanied to the tour bus departure point in town, ran errands to pay our bills for us while we were out for the day, she helped us make phone calls, use the internet (WIFI was good here). She knows so much about Cusco, Peru and it's culture and history, she is the perfect embassador for her country.
