"Gd n bad"

6.0

Very spacious room with a super big bathroom n walkin closet. Big lobby. Breakfast buffet gd, lots of choices. Like their local food like noodles, congee, pastries, soy milk etc. Welcome drink at the lobby lounge available in the format of coupon. Since i arrived the hotel late night, takeaway red wine arranged. So sweet. No shop or restaurant ard. But didi/taxi s convenience. As an international chained hotel at this price (usd170/night), i would expect a little bit more on the maintenance. Door lock damaged. TVs not working (2 technicians fixed them, blessed). Reading lamps not working. Mirror not properly fixed on wall. Swinging while using. Stone Age BOSE dvd player without bluetooth. If u r looking for a big clean room, intercontinental s ok but i wonder u hv many other choices if u pay this rate.

"Very good"

The building is amazing, and the location is good. Byredo cosmetics in the shower.

The restaurants are not delicions, from Intercon you expect a higher standard. Very cold in the room; the AC did not work on heating.

"Lovely and comfortable stay"

10.0

The hotel is pleasant, close to the centre but in a quiet area. The view of the river is not to be missed. The proximity to the metro and the availability of Taxi is perfect. Pleasant and light live music every evening. The rooms are spacious. Upon arrival, it became apparent that we would take advantage of the helpfulness and ability of the staff, as the IHG server gave the reservation to a family of three people vaguely. The staff did not disappoint and then prepared the room perfectly. Excellent and plentiful breakfast both continental and local. There is something for everyone to choose and experimentation is possible. All services were faultless, as you would expect from a luxury hotel. Cleaning precise and absolutely discreet. I must commend the helpfulness of the staff. And don't miss the Friday or Saturday light-show and come out in front of the hotel on the City Balcony. You'll be as impressed as we were.

Great Room and Food, Though Service Was Hit or Miss"

8.0

My relatives and I had a 4-night stay at the InterContinental Hangzhou ICC. Located by the Qiantang River, the hotel is one of Hangzhou’s landmarks, known for its iconic “Golden Globe” appearance. It is connected underground to a large shopping mall and conveniently next to the Citizen Center metro station, providing direct access to Xiaoshan Airport. Before arrival, I had already contacted the hotel via email regarding our room preferences and travel plans. Robin and Evin both responded promptly and with care. Kudos to Evin for proactively checking the needs of our family members, taking their age into consideration and ensuring everything was well arranged in advance. Evin happened to be on duty when we checked in and handled the process with great professionalism and attention to detail, leaving us with an excellent first impression of the hotel. Another Ambassador check-in counter receptionist, November, initially seemed not proactive but proved capable of handling guest requests efficiently when Evin was off duty. The room itself has seen some years but still great overall. The nightly turndown service came with a card that happened to introduce the Hangzhou attractions we had already planned to visit. The river-view room offers stunning night views, and I really liked the round sofa by the window. However, the bathroom has a poor design. The bathmat does not fit properly outside the sliding door, causing it to get stuck. Water pressure and temperature were also not stable. Additionally, the stationery set inside the drawer was not provided in every room, and even when available, it was not properly cleaned. The welcome drink vouchers for IHG One members can be redeemed at the Connections Lobby Lounge, which has a nice ambience, though the staff displayed no enthusiasm. The hotel also had live performances by a Cuban musician couple when I was there, and I really enjoyed their repertoire. However, given the poor soundproofing in the rooms, I could still hear the music playing even after returning to the room, not ideal for those looking for a quiet rest. The concierge team was very helpful and proactive. That being said, they did not seem resourcefully equipped and often had to search information online. The Club InterContinental was one of the more disappointing aspects. I would not say it was bad, but it was definitely below the usual Club InterContinental standards in Asia. The Club appeared understaffed, and even the available staff members were inexperienced (though Link was somewhat an exception). They repeatedly asked for room number and did not have breakfast ready when the service was supposed to start. Even checking out at the Club required the staff to call for extra assistance. What surprised me even more was that charging devices at the lounge reception required an additional fee. Breakfast at the Fresh All Day Dining Restaurant had similar issues. While there was not a staff shortage, some staff members simply stood idly. Both the Club and the restaurant also had discrepancies between the buffet menu cards and the actual food presented, which really should not have happened. Those with dietary restrictions should take extra caution. The hotel is a globe itself and is next to the moon-shaped Grand Theatre, and maybe that is why the hotel's Chinese restaurant was named "Sun & Moon Chinese Restaurant." We were particularly looking forward to dinner at Sun & Moon, where we could use the IHG Destined dining credit and take advantage of the Diamond Ambassador dining discount. However, the ordering process was incredibly frustrating, leaving a poor first impression. While the large table looks impressive, the restaurant has no printed menus, so all of us had to gather and order from a small tablet, quite inconvenient. When we tried to place our order, we were then informed that some dishes required a 1-day advance order, a further waste of time. To make matters worse, the staff member who informed us had severe bad breath. When I asked how come the restaurant did not take out the unavailable dishes off of the tablet or otherwise inform us the restriction in advance, the staff member instead blamed us for not checking out the restaurant page on Dianping first (even though I had made the booking through Evin, not via the Mainland Chinese app called Dianping), which was completely unreasonable. Fortunately, the food was excellent, and once another staff member, Noah, took over, our dining experience improved significantly. Overall, it turned out to be an enjoyable meal.

The fitness & spa is supported by 3rd party. Their staff unfortunately is not as good.

Good business hotel in Hangzhou, China. Central and convenient with all the facilities you would expect from the IHG InterContinental brand. Unusual design as a perfect sphere and as such quite unique in its interior space with a huge open atrium type concept.
