La restauration est en dessous de la moyenne pour ce type d’établissement, le service est irrégulier. Le check in et le check out prennent beaucoup trop de temps. Le wifi libre est nul. Le service au petit déjeuner est agressif, il faut faire la queue pour être placé, ensuite aux stands et après il faut faire vite … Bref, c’est un traitement très industriel alors que le prix est très élevé. Les extras sont proposés à des prix astronomiques Heureusement que nous n’avons pas pris la pension complète.

This was my second stay at Villa del Palmar, and it remains a high-quality resort. The staff are the hotel’s greatest strength, with a good balance between experienced professionals and younger employees, creating smooth and well-organized service. Special thanks to Vicky and her housekeeping team for their professionalism and attention to detail. The food was consistently excellent and well prepared. Room service staff were polite and respectful, and the reception team took good care of both me and my luggage. The room was brand new, comfortable, and beautiful. I stayed room-only, which suited me well, and food quality across the resort—especially lunches with fresh fish—was outstanding

Prices rise sharply close to Christmas, making the resort clearly targeted at a very affluent segment. I paid nearly 15,000 NOK for 8 nights, room only, whereas breakfast was included on my previous stay. There was noticeable noise between rooms, and some guests were very loud. On arrival, there were several minor practical issues (room keys, safe, drainage, curtains, bed linen), which were resolved. Mosquitoes were a significant issue during this period, particularly for Scandinavian and European guests.

This was my second stay at Villa del Palmar Luxury Resort & Spa, and overall I still rate the hotel 5 stars. A special thank you to Luis for his care, flexibility, and understanding. He treats guests with respect and genuine consideration. The hotel clearly looks after its guests when you are honest and straightforward, and that creates trust. The staff dynamic is a real strength here. There is a good balance between younger, newer employees and experienced professionals, and it works very well. The diversity among staff—across ages, nationalities, and backgrounds—is noticeable and positive. The service flow is generally smooth, and the team makes a real effort, even during busy periods. The room was brand new and beautiful, with excellent comfort. The food remains outstanding—especially lunch with fresh fish. Overall food quality is consistently high

That said, prices increase significantly close to Christmas. At this time, it is clearly a resort mainly accessible to wealthier travelers. I paid almost 15,000 NOK for 8 nights, room only. On my previous stay, breakfast was included, but this time only the room was included, which actually suited me better since I rarely use the all-inclusive options. There are some issues worth mentioning. It is quite noisy between rooms, and many guests—particularly American tourists—are very loud, which affects rest. The welcome is warm, but there were technical issues: incorrect room keys, problems opening the safe (security assistance was needed), mosquitoes in the room, a bathroom sink that would not drain, and light curtains that did not work properly upon arrival. The bed linen was not completely clean at first. Mosquitoes are the biggest challenge at this time of year, especially for Scandinavian and European guests. I believe January and later months are better in this regard, although prices increase further at high-end resorts like this one.
