Hotel Villa Santa Catarina

Lovely hotel, great place to stay when visiting the lake. Much better than Panajachel, though not much to do at night. Food options only in the hotel. Great pool and gardens. An evangelical church played super loud music til midnight one of the nights which was rough when you just need some rest. Hotel can arrange boat trips to nearby towns, highly recommend! But you have to ask, no handouts or information freely available when you arrive.

My experience was positive really liked this hotel the only down side is there is no AC so the room was as little stuffy other than that it was a good hotel

Beautiful hotel right above the lake, nearby to Panajachel. The hotel was really tastefully decorated with small touches. The rooms are spacious and the grounds are really special. The staff was fine, not super friendly but not rude. The food at the restaurant was tasty. Would totally stay here again. You feel like you’re at a place that costs a lot more.

I stayed here with a tour group of 16 people. The grounds and the setting are beautiful and the rooms were comfortable. The big drawback was lack of A/C. This is a well-traveled group and we’ve dealt with that in many places- but the outside environment here was noisy. There must be an outdoor venue nearby- we heard loud music and, the second night, a LONG sermon from a Christian revival meeting. That ended at 8:30 but dogs were barking all night. Some rooms had ceiling fans; others did not. One couple had no soap in the room. They requested it twice. It never arrived. Food was very good but the first night there was a 20-minute interval between the first and the last of our group getting entrees. I’d recommend this place if they got A/C.

The property was gorgeous it was quiet during the week and great to have a pool. It can be loud during the weekend but just bring earplugs and the shower pressure isn't the best. Overall, I enjoy the place thanks!
