Staff went above and beyond despite being very busy

Beautiful hotel, food amazing staff are friendly

We stayed for 2 nights and didn’t get a maid the second day, I thought we would have a maid to remake bed change towels etc ..

I started work just after Christmas on a new project at port of immingham and needed a hotel to stay for three nights a week possibly for the next two years. I choose the Ashbourne for its location initially. I now am a regular, the rooms are large and super clean. The food is excellent with a good choice both at breakfast and in the evening. Even better the staff are brilliant, friendly, efficient and helpful. Tracey and Sally amongst all the staff always welcome me and have a chat making a home away from home more bearable so thank you.

Aesthetically externally the property looked beautiful. Lovely rural location. Ample parking. Food was nice in the evening ( however was supposed to be on meal deal but didn’t get it), plentiful breakfast. Courtyard was pretty.

Closer inspection revealed some issues. On entering room, lovely and spacious, however, light switches were dirty. Poop stains in the toilet, mould around the bath. And the silicone sealant round the bath looked like it had been applied by Edward scissor hands! And don’t sit on the chair at the desk in room 309 as it’s broken and poorly fixed. Had to pay £35 for our two miniature schnauzers to stay in the room this was not stipulated at the time of booking. Stairwell paintwork had more scuffs than an infant child’s plimsoles. Ps I do have photos but thought they were too grim to put on

Went there for a wedding at the weekend. The staff were so lovely (main wedding coordinator and bar staff etc) and the venue was decent (clean and nice food portions). When leaving we were planning on having our baby shower there. Unfortunately, after we had left we realised they had charged us twice and, despite this being a mix up on both ends, they offered no solutions left us feeling icky and lied to. (I had booked a room under a hyphenated surname and my Mum rang up to check the room I had booked was under the wedding rate. This lead to them booking her another room in my name- same name just without the hyphenated part. Somehow they didn't notice that there was two virtually same names on two rooms and it led to me being charged twice automatically. On the phone the lady said that they automatically charged the 'no show' room as they had to turn guests away when we know for a fact this is not true, following conversations with other staff members on the night about spare rooms. Following the feeling I got after the phone call, I will not be recommending the hotel. A real shame given that they could have dealt with this professionally and gained much more custom doing so).

Enjoyed attending a wedding here yesterday. From the start of our stay at a very welcoming reception to check out, staff were extremely attentive and friendly and made our experience even better. The bar staff were so busy but always had a smile on their face. Wedding meal was delicious and promptly served and breakfast the following morning was equally tasty. Thanks to all staff at The Ashbourne Hotel
