Quiet alternative to busy Paihia

Owner was great and very helpful. Was a perfect stop over for us. Brewery next door had good food and good beers!

We absolutely loved this gem of a place! Our room was very spacious, having a king bed in the bedroom and then two twin beds for our kiddos in the main area. The room was perfectly clean with everything we needed and while there wasn’t AC, there were ample doors and windows to open to create a pleasant cross-breeze. The best part? No bugs! You could confidently leave everything open without mosquitoes, etc! Grange & Bronwynn are the most wonderful hosts/owners. So helpful and attentive! They truly made us feel welcome :) Oh and then there’s the awesome pool - clean, warm and quite big! We loved it!! We truly could have stayed forever here!

Grange and Bronwynn are the perfect hosts and this was pur third time we have stayed at their beautifully maintained motel. It is just a perfect base for exploring the Bay of Islands area. The lovdly pool followed by a barbecue is just job after a hot days exploring or a trip on the unique R Tucker Thompspn sailing ship. Highly recommended 👍

Four our needs (visiting the region), the Ash Grove Boutique was excellent. A convenient base to visit local sites. We just had a couple of days and saw the treaty signing site and we did the local falls walk. Staff were super friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and pleasant. Sunsets were spectacular!
