It was good all round stay

Firstly I have to say I received a very warm welcome the lovely receptionist - Laila. She was absolutely amazing and will be remembered as one of the nicest lady I’ve met on my travels. However I can’t say that about the hotel or my room - it was truly abysmal by today’s standards. Poor condition, bathroom falling to bits, shower head full of slime and mould, floor dirty had to ask the cleaning girl to clean the floor. There was an odour of pets in our room, and my duvet smelt too. Other than that Laila and manager Diane made up for my disappointment. Taken photos as it was bad.

This Days Inn is perfectly ok accommodation fopr a night or two, but the lick of paint that has been applied to all surfaces in the rooms doesn't really disguise the fact that this is a property that has seen better days and feels cheap and basic. The shower was badly under-powered, there was only one pillow, and the paint job was pretty dreadful (they even painted the bathroom tiles!).

Avoid if can, the beds in room 9 were awful, could feel every spring in the mattress. Rust all around radiator in the bathroom and the bath taps, vinyl coming off doors etc in the bathroom. Furniture in the bedroom very dated and paint chips etc. Couldnt use fan as was covered in dust on the fan blades etc. Staff very friendly.

Despite all of the negative comments on here about this accommodation my daughter and I had a great stay. Yes, granted this is no luxury establishment with high end furnishing or facilities but it’s clean and functional. The reception staff were really helpful, polite and welcoming and the quiet lakeside location is beautiful and great value for money. I had no complaints and would not hesitate to stay again.

Pictures on the site certainly dont resemble the actual conditions of the room. Looks like pictures were taken 20 years ago.
