Matuka Lodge

Amazing lodge and lovely hosts. Highly recommend staying here. We stayed for 3 nights and the proximity to Mt Cook area was excellent (about 45 mins). The lodge was peaceful and included a lovely breakfast. Plenty of space to relax in the large lounge room in the lodge. There are a number of local places to eat dinner at (a short drive away).

We only stayed one night but would have liked to stay longer. A very beautiful property, very spacious and wonderful hosts. The view of the stars at night in a specially prepared area was fantastic. the cooked breakfast in the morning was delicious. Also wine and beverages available at any time.

Great accommodation close to Twizel. Excellent breakfast - all home made. Rooms were spacious and bed extremely comfortable. Bathroom furniture could do with a refurb. The outstanding feature were the positive energies of the hosts (Libby and Geoff). Libby was so caring for all her guests and ensuring that they were maximising their experience of the area - nothing was too much trouble for her to try and organise or to suggest.

We had the best time. Libby and Geoff are amazing hosts. Thank you both so much.

Amazing stay. Lovely bedroom, sitting area, and huge bathroom with luxurious spa tub, walk in shower, heated towel rack, plush towels, and great smelling shampoo/soap. Beautiful setting with well landscaped pond, Mountain View’s and even ducks in the pond. Great welcoming snacks and really excellent breakfast…best tasting mushrooms ever! Friendly, attentive hosts as well.

We could not ask for a more comfortable or personalized experience/stay.

We loved our stay at Matuka lodge. Geoff & Libby were fatastic hosts and the breakfast made by Libby was fantastic each morning. The lodge is a beautiful location to spend time and a great place to access Aoraki / Mt Cook National park.
