It was nice, it was clean. The breakfast wasn't good. The breakfast was on the table 20 minutes before I got to the table. Hosts were a pain because as soon as you sat down for breakfast, they would stand around your table asking too many questions instead of just leaving you to eat it. It was ok

The hosts Marc and Julie, every morning just waiting for you to come for breakfast so that they could talk to you, they wouldn't leave anyone alone

Every aspect of my stay at the Merritt was superb. Hosts were extremely hospitable and helpful in every way. Fully recommend this to anyone wishing to stay in Paignton as the location was so convenient.

Breakfast was delicious, room was spotless and comfy. It was just a few minutes walk from the beach, station and main shopping area. Really couldn’t fault the place once we got inside. The welcome we received was fabulous and, unlike other places we’ve stayed where it’s just a business, we felt that they really really wanted us to have a great stay. Loved it. Would return at the drop of a hat … if there was better parking.

The only thing we didn’t like was the parking. Luckily we managed to have the last space, but goodness me it was tight. Really tight. We didn’t need to move the car while we were there so once we were parked it was fine, but I don’t think we’d chance it again. It’s a shame because we loved the rest of it.
