Swan Hotel

Historic hotel. Friendliness.

Breakfast middling to good. Lidl cereals, no oat milk. Cooked breakfast was lovely.

Friendly staff, very helpful. Superb breakfast. Quirky hotel; it is very old and has bags of character. Close to restaurants and cafes. Good walks and fishing nearby. Room was comfortable, soft towels, good sized bed. Looking forward to going back.

The location is great as right in the centre of the town. The hotel itself is in a lovely historic building.

The rooms although big enough need a big spruce up as they are very tired and in need of decoration. It was ok for one night but I would not want to stay for any more than that.

The breakfast was fine. The waiter made an effort for me to find decaffeinated tea and to offer smoked mackerel and very nice poached eggs instead of a full English.

My room was very cold making it difficult to sleep. Two of the radiators didn’t work and the small one which did work wasn’t enough to warm the room on a cold January night. I had to wear an extra cardigan and use my coat as a blanket. There was no one available after nine thirty pm to ask.

The staff asked what time I wanted breakfast I said 8am got down for 8.05 and the room was locked so didn't get the breakfast and no one about so left not very good 😢
