The location is fantastic, just a short walk down to the CBD and waterfront, or up to the Gondala and other attractions. More like a European pension than modern hotel, small number of rooms with lovely old fashioned dining room for breakfast and comfortable homestyle lounge room with fireplace leading to outdoor terrace. My room was on top level and it was great to be able to open the French doors onto small balcony, and enjoy the fresh air and views. Excellent views towards the lake, a sea of twinkling lights at night. Spacious room and comfy queen bed, big bathroom. A little 'dated' but I would prefer this to a soulless major hotel. I would return if back in Queenstown.

No lift so I needed the reception guy to help carry my suitcase up the stairs.

Great location - perfect distance from the town and the slight elevation have magnificent views. It was clean and well-kept and we loved the picturesque balcony overlooking the lake and mountains. The staff member we met was professional, helpful and kind. She was exceptional.

The main problem was the comfort of the bed. In the end we dragged the single mattress off the spare bed and slept on the floor.
