"Iconic hotel"

8.0

The Red Lion is steeped in history and is central to this very special village. It is essentially a pub with accommodation so don't expect five star cuisine. However, the period charm, friendly and helpful staff and unique setting make it a regular venue for us. Highly recommended.

"Red lion Lacock, No complaints."

10.0

Good location in the village. Staff were brilliant in so far that nothing was too much trouble, The room was spacious light clean and airy. Good bathroom attached. Very modern fittings. The evening meal was good and value for the area. Breakfast was superb a massive plateful and we were asked if we needed anything else!

"Red Lion Lacock"

10.0

Booked this hotel specifically to be close to National Trust Lacock Abbey. This worked very well and we were very impressed with the hotel and would definitely stay there again. The staff were attentive and friendly, the food was excellent.

"Good"

6.0

Nice old building ideally located in the centre of the village Good parking and easy access Helpful staff Rooms with great views and well equipped. Modern and functional but not reflecting the age and character of the pub. Only real negative was over the breakfast which was good on paper with generous portions and good selection. However, Sausages and Bacon whilst of undoubted quality, were very underdone (neither crisp not brown) and staff were surprised when we requested they be cooked for longer, prompting some discussion before re-cooking. Also, oddly, fried eggs were not an option and the yogurts were out of date.

"Hotel close to Lacock Abbey. "

8.0

We were shown to our room by a very pleasant and helpful girl but the star of the show there was Sarah- another member of staff. She couldn't do enough for us, organising our evening meal and drinks. I'm vegetarian and there wasn't a lot on the menu so she went to see the chef about finding something else for me (which happened). Sarah deserves an excellent rating for the way she treats customers her opinion was 'I treat customers how I would like to be treated if I was visiting here'. Well you certainly did that Sarah! Many thanks. Otherwise it's a good place to stay to be in the village of Lacock which is beautiful and it's literally across the road from the Abbey (National Trust).

"Lovely overnight stop"

10.0

An overnight stop on route to somewhere else, warm welcome, lovely meal and quiet nights sleep. Over breakfast the waitress told us all about the history of the pub and the village, if we had more time we would have definitely explored the area.

An excellent place to stay! Convenient location for touring The Cotswolds. The room was spotless and the staff were friendly and helpful. We had dinner at the hotel both nights of our stay and the food was excellent. We really enjoyed our short break, cannot fault anything, and we are looking forward to going back sometime soon!
