Hotel Baja

Puerto Penascos is a strange place. There is some natural beauty around, but the setting is peculiar. Hotel Baja fits into that context. The rooms are okay. We were a bit surprised to see old big box TVs in the rooms, but that kind of fits here. Some beach bar/restaurants are close by, if you are looking for that kind of scene. The beach is walking distance from the hotel. Rental jet skis are available here for $35 per half hour. The view of the sea is not as interesting here as from the "Sandy Beach" side of PP. The staff are friendly but you can't expect too much from Hotel Baja.

I would advise not to stay here at all for any reason at any time. The mattresses were old and did not have proper covering not even a fitted sheet, they were stained And the towels had previous people hair on them, the shower had a hole in the floor covered with wax. The bar was closed, the restaurant was closed, just not a good day. I did not sleep there. Never again. The area is okay but that’s it and you still have to drive places only Many’s beach club is walking distance

The hotel said bar and restraunt on premises, no such thing. We were told that the hotel was next to the malecon, in fact it was miles away. Hotel is in a dust bowl.

The hotel room had no phone, didnt know how to reach room service and there was no elevator..not recommended for seniors. Room was not super clean. Location was great for night life (close to Mannys Beach Club- kids allowed, good entertainmwnt, and great food) and day time shopping

The best part of this hotel is the pool. However, the grounds and facilities are filthy. The hotel is in need of serious maintenance. It is in disrepair and uncared for. The room was barely clean enough to be inhabitable. There was a hole in the shower floor. Sofa bed mattress was soiled and wet. On the bright side there were no bugs. Sheets and towels were clean. For $30 a night this would be a fair price if you have a tolerance for an authentic working class mexican e perience, if you are shy about motel 6 or easy 8 this place will terrify you. Beaches on this side of Penasco are not nice. Loud music and strobe lights until early morning. Nice staff, doing their best in rough circumstances.

It was a great stay. As with most things in life, you get what you paid for. That being said...the value of my stay far surpassed the cost! I am very happy with how friendly and attentive the entire staff was and would definitely return to the property again!

Weird place, unpaved road, outdated.bed very hard uncomfortable

Great gulf views, withing walking distance of where I was going. Price reflects stay. I just needed a place to shower and sleep.
