Tropicana Lagoon Apartments

They made few mistake in reservation or meal but largely compensate by upgrading our stay or letting us use the room late in the day before taking our flight. The restaurent is traditional with excellent food.

Stayed in this hotel twice while visiting Vanuatu recently and although the location is beautiful, staff very friendly and rooms clean, well equipped and tastefully decorated I wouldn't recommend anyone going here unless there are reports that the kava drinking locals have found somewhere else to frequent. I know it is the culture of the people to drink kava but there is a time and place for everything and outside the bedroom window of paying guests at 2am is neither the time nor the place. The owner of this property needs to decide where his loyalties lie - whether he wants to encourage overseas holiday makers or provide a nice spot on the lagoon for his friends to hoik and spit away their nights. Although we would love to return as the service and staff are wonderful we will think long and hard before staying again and certainly wouldn't recommend it to friends or family

Very warm and friendly establishment. Well run by Flora who keeps everyone on their toes. Had a problem with the hot water supply and when it couldn't be resolved quickly we were moved to the room next door - nothing too much trouble. Great restaurant with chief chef Abel - marvelous cook - and friendly staff lead by Sheilah and Paul. Many thanks for the farewell note and flowers in the room Sheilah, a very nice touch, good luck with the new baby. Rooms well designed and tastefully decorated. Now comes the "but" and it's a big one. Don't go here if you aren't happy to have Kava drinking locals hoiking and spitting outside your bedroom window at 2am. The owner needs to decide if he is running a family hotel for overseas visitors or a Kava drinking watering hole for his friends and locals - believe me, the two aren't compatible

We enjoyed our stay. Some of the staff were a bit inconsistent in the restaurant although their always seemed to be alot of staff. We did enjoy the lunch and thought it was very good value for money. The evening meal could be a bit overpriced. the room was comfortable and had everything we needed.

I had a pleasing stay at the Tropicana and enjoyed the location beside the second lagoon. Complimentary breakfast was adequate of fruit, toast and coffee in the dining hut beside the water. Meals ordered were of a good quality, though I find Vanuatu prices pretty steep. I ordered poached eggs as extra for one morning - one came, without toast, at over $7. The apartment has cooking facilities so suited me to do a shop at Bon Marche to get through the week. Problems with the hot water in shower - 2 days only in 8 got a hot shower, despite requests, in end gave up. But staff very friendly and obliging. Would recommend.

The location is fine. All other destinations could be reached by transfer ( we have booked most trasnsfers though the reception). Staff is excellent, nice and friendly. Bathroom was a bit dirty. For example the shower had many spots covered by mould and the mirror has never been cleaned and covered with stains. The restaurant is ok. But the food preparation place is a really dirty and horrifying when you look closely.

we did not expect vanuatu is going to be our second home, because they are very kind and nice people, i do not think they are not rich comunity but heart wise richest people in the world, always smile and respect the tourist. Totally it was wonderful. if god"s will we want go again. and wish them always be happy forever.

Room was nice and big, with a lovely view from the balcony. Hotel was a little out of town so had to catch a bus in to town (easy to do but just not as convenient for us). Restaurant at the hotel was nice, with lovely view over lagoon and good food. Friendly staff.

Tropicana is definitely what a person is looking for to have a perfect and relaxing stay in port-Vila ... I highly recommend it :)
