The Elgin Mount Pandim - Heritage Resort & Spa

Location is the biggest pro (in case you have good weather) Staff was extremely nice!

The property is old/ historic (that‘s what you want when you book this) but for that price range i would have expected a better state (some more maintenance could not hurt, e.g. windows)

Location garden and exterior very well maintained

No air con or fans. Carpet and upholstery needs a deep clean.

Location, food and hospitality

Location is exceptional. Staff is very polite & hard working. They behave like a family member. Restaurant's staff is extraordinary & they serve their best. Interior looks heavy & make feel royal.

Property needs upgradation. This is heritage property but not meets the expectations as their tarrif is very high but facilities provided into the room are very far behind even into the bathroom there is no space for bathtub but they have provided & people need to take bath after standing into the bathtub. All the electrical switches & boards are needed to change. Even electric kettle was not working into the room. Geyser was not working so they provided one bucket hot water for bathing. Overall they charge heavy amount but facilities they provide are outdated.

Worst hotel and rudest customer service in 25 years We were wrongfully charged for meals for an extra guest ! The hotel at Pelling said they couldn’t do anything abt it. So I called and emailed the Elgin main customer service at Kolkata couple of times. They were extremely rude, and hung up on me the first time, just after 3 minutes. I called hotels.com requesting a refund of the extra charges. Hotels.com agreed with us but the Elgin (Ms. Sonali) denied us any refund. I emailed the Elgin but they simply did not respond. Don’t book this hotel - we got NO view of the Kanchenjunga. Many hotels in the area falsely claim to offer views of the Kanchenjuna.
