Hotel Wrexham

Was really clean , staff very friendley and helpful

Stayed here for a wedding at a hotel near by and not sure our room had been fully cleaned or prepped. Hairs on the floor in the bathroom, empty products left by previous guests, the tea/coffee hadn’t been topped back up or spoons replaced. Generally very tired decor and the chair in the room was really dirty and stained. We had a member of staff try to get in our room and questioned who my husband was when he opened the door. When I highlighted the issues the following morning (didn’t have time earlier because of the wedding) they weren’t bothered - no apology or recompense. Breakfast was nice though.

Easy to find, with well kept rooms. We only used the hotel as a base and did not dine there and so had little interaction with the staff. The ones we did see were always friendly and cheery and our room was always well serviced on our return.

Unfortunately, my young son and I were put in a room next to others that had been celebrating a wedding at the venue and they continued with their celebrations in the surrounding rooms until 2am. Loud music, drunken noise and general thoughtlessness meant a very poor night of sleep for us. Another issue was that we had to leave the hotel by 7:45am but breakfast wasn’t served until 8am at a weekend so we had to leave even earlier to buy a makeshift breakfast on the way to our destination. The hotel itself is nice and staff are friendly, just avoid any time during which a wedding celebration is taking place.

This was a stopover on route home for us the hotel was good the receptionist was definitely the heart of this place what a star !!

The first thing i want to say is over the years i have sung the praises of this hotel at least 4 times, and i have had a great deal of experience staying here, as i have probably stayed here around 50 times in the past 4 years. I booked a room for 12th January 2022. 2 days before my stay i receive an email telling me there is no bar or restaurant, and that my key will be left in the room. This was blamed on Covid and current restrictions. Not too bad i thought, i can pick up food on my way to the hotel. I arrived at the hotel to find the room i should be in was locked (107). I managed to find a member of staff wh then informed me i was in room 108, i explained the email, to which i received an apology. I explained that the reason i have stayed at the hotel over the past 4 years was due to the relationship i had developed with the staff and the standard of the food in the restaurant. If this is no more, why am i staying? I was assured this would be rectified next month. I entered my room, which was bitter cold, bearing in mind my car had stated the outdoor temperature was -2.5 when i arrived. I tried to turn the heating up, to find out there was no heating, and actually spoke to another resident who had been there for 2 days, and he said the heating had not been on for his stay. I was freezing, so i ate my food, and found myself having to get into bed at 9:30 just to stay warm. I woke at 6:30 and went to take a shower, only to find the water was luke warm at best.

Staff very friendly and helpful yet professional

A mixed bag. Good value for the price and the restaurant was lovely with excellent food and friendly staff. However the walls are so thin and room 202 had adjoining door where we could even hear next door stirring their tea! Therefore a noisy night. Great shower and bathroom but bed had very thick crinkly mattress cover. Ask for a room without adjoining room with connecting door if you want any privacy.
