Hotel Wrexham

It has been a while since I felt it necessary to give such a bad review. This place should be avoided. My son got food poisoning here. The restaurant service was so slow that it begged belief. My sunglasses were stolen by a member of staff I believe. They are always trying to con you. And then, if that were not enough - they tried to charge us for damage to the room that had nothing to do with us. If that were not enough - the rooms are very shabby, and good luck getting proper room cleaning. This place is truly awful. They can't even pour a proper pint of Guiness.

Very nice lobby, bar and restaurant. Room was a little dated but clean and tidy. Bathroom very nice great shower. Bed was reasonably comfortable. Hotel was quiet with no disturbances. Food in the restaurant was excellent with a good choice of drinks at the bar.

Good place for rest. Quiet, clean, friendly staff, nice food and also you can try local lager and cider straight from tap. :)

We went to join our friends at their wedding hosted at Holt lodge and the ceremony, party, food and drink was great. Our hotel room however fell very short of the mark, dated, tired, the bed was terrible and pillows like pancakes - no sleep at all! The corridor leading to our room also stank of cannabis ! I made the receptionist aware on check out and she said she was sorry but offered no compensation - not that I would go back anyway.

The room was clean and tidy. The staff were very nice.

Fabulous hotel, room was spacious, warm and very clean. Food was very very good, I am a coeliac and was exceptionally well catered for. Chef was fabulous, ensured meals were gluten free, staff are friendly and very helpful. Absolutely brilliant stay, would definitely use again.

This hotel is completely over prices for the quality of the hotel. The rooms are old and in need of a serious overhaul. The bed was hard and lumpy and the toiletries were very poor. Hardly any shower gel left in the dispenser and bargain basement toilet paper, whole place just felt neglected. If it was £50 a night I wouldnt be writing this but at £95 its just unacceptable.

Terrible experience. My room was awful. The bathroom hadn’t been cleaned. Hair all over the floor and around the sink. I had to ask for it to be cleaned as the hotel was full and no other room available. The mattress was so old it was flat. Breakfast was woeful - I won’t go back and wouldn’t recommend.
