Hotel Benidorm Panama

The photos overemphasize how bright and spacious the rooms are. My room was sufficient for my three-night stay, but it was very dark. The neighborhood is loud, but that is the case in many cheap neighborhoods in Panama City. Most frustrating was the internet, which is largely non-functional. Furthermore, I had emailed ahead of time to arrange a taxi pickup, and they never responded. Hotel Benidorm is fine for a cheap hotel in the city, but I still felt it was overpriced compared to places I have stayed in Panama City in previous years.

On the positive side the Hotel Benidorm has friendly, attentive staff and a nice adjoining budget restaurant. As Panama City is fairly expensive the hotel is a budget option. Unfortunately the Hotel is noisy and the rooms are poorly lit, unattractive and small. The area is not particular nice but it seems perfectly safe during the day and a police officer seemed to always be in the parking lot of the casino across the street so street crime shouldn't be an issue. I think that the hotel should invest in larger televisions, much better lighting (the bathroom is extremely dark) and should noise proof the rooms better. If they did these things then this hotel would be adequate. As it stands I wouldn't recommend the hotel as it's kind of loud and depressing.
