"Hotel service"

6.0

This is a beautiful building but the service is lackluster, particularly in the breakfast area where the staff are unfriendly and so poorly trained that it's hard to even get change for a bottle of water. In short, this hotel has great potential but needs decent management and an ethic of service to its clients.

"Great Hotel with great chocolate theme."

10.0

a great hotel with friendly staff. It is connected to the chocolate museum which was great for the family. The Chocolate themed restaurant and gift shop were also a hit.

"Eclectic & historic - but hard to recommend"

4.0

You book this place because of the pool and the cool eclectic furniture and art. But you get there and find out that the owners of the hotel allow *anyone* to use the pool for a small fee. It's basically a public swimming pool called the Mombacho Beach Club and Bar. So you share what should be a tranquil luxurious area with lovely sunset views with screaming children & hordes of backpackers. Our first day it was so crowded you couldn't get a sun lounge at all. I counted 20 people with visitor bracelets (non guests wear bracelets) and 4 of us without. Suddenly that 60 foot pool isn't so big. And what about security after inviting in all these randoms? The hotel has a notice advising visitors not to leave their valuables unattended. It's not at all difficult for anyone to head up to the rooms where the locks are flimsy and there are no safety deposit boxes. That said, if you don't mind the crowds the pool is a seriously beautiful place to watch the sunset & the bar is inexpensive. The hot water and air conditioning worked just fine for us. And the staff were helpful although it definitely helped if you spoke Spanish. The breakfast was very different, served up in these pots with banana leafs - but we liked it - the granola was especially delicious. Our room was *huge* but there were a bunch of roosters next door that made sleep impossible without ear plugs. The spa massage was free, & you get what you pay for. Stay elsewhere & pay for the day use of the pool

"Good massage; not much else."

6.0

Good service. Good massage. Good location (near central plaza). BUT...Room was small and dark with cobwebs. My wife said she had hot water for her shower but I showered twice with only cold water. Food was just ok. Bed was small. An animal was making noise ALL night interrupting my sleep. Overall, a disappointing experience.

"comfortable and clean"

8.0

Nice hotel for Granada. Wife really liked the daily massage. good free breakfast if you order ala carte omelet, crepe, pancake or waffle. Easy walk to central square and most of the restaurants (although taxi's at less than a buck make everywhere in Granada reachable) Don't expect U.S. standards of luxury, this is Nicaragua and so the pool could use some work and the room was a bit small (we had superior, deluxe looks a lot bigger). But the place has some real character and the room was always clean.

"Amazing pool, good spa and breakfast"

8.0

We stayed here for 4 days and really enjoyed it. The pool is amazing and spa treatments were good. Breakfast at the connecting Cacao Museum was included (made to order eggs, crepes, waffles and pancakes). The staff were really nice and helpful, especially Melissa at the front desk, but the cleaning ladies were really loud in the mornings, singing and moving things around outside and above our room at around 7:30am.

"Nice hotels but economy rooms are misrepresented."

6.0

The room, even the large ones, have no desk to put laptop and the one I stayed in, economy one, was on the outside patio so when it rained i had to use an umbrella to go in and out. This house belonged to an ex president back in the old days so judging by the room distribution I'd say the economy rooms location are where the servants lived. The hotel grounds are very well kept, the location is very good and the staff is very pleasant.

"Really good hotel"

10.0

We stayed here just one night before an early flight from Managua. It was a great hotel and an even better location than the hotel we previously stayed at in Granada. We did love both hotels for different reasons. The Granada Spa Hotel had really nice old historic rooms. The hot water worked excellently, the staff was friendly, and the massages that came with room were as good as any massages anywhere. The pool area was nice as well. We would highly recommend staying here, especially for the price, though we did not get to experience the free breakfast as we did have an early flight out.

Definitely spend the extra money to get a deluxe room, worth it! Staff was helpful, location was great, terrific pool, very good breakfast and a free message with your stay.
