We stayed here 4 nights, since we were visiting friends who live in Trang. The hotel did not have many guests, I would think maybe max 20% of the rooms were booked. The room was spacious and clean, we stayed at the 11th floor, with pool view. It was not so isolated, you could hear other guests outside the room quite well. Luckily there were not many so we were not bothered by noise. The pool area is nice, we visited it a couple of times, and one day we were there all alone. Like a private pool! Breakfast buffet (included in the price 1500 baht/night) was unfortunately not good, except for the omelette which they made on order. They played one (ONE!) Christmas song on repeat the whole time (a "jolly" version of "We wish you a merry Christmas") and when we heard it for the 20th time, we almost went insane. The following days we went out to a café for breakfast. Walking distance to the train station (city) approx 5-8 minutes. There is a nice outside restaurant/bar which we visited every night, there are no other bars in the area that we found. The staff here do not speak English very well though, we had a struggle ordering rice with the food... :) But Trang is not a big tourist city, so it is understandable. The hotel has a small shop on the ground floor, here you can buy clothes, souvenirs, snacks and drinks at reasonable prices.

There is nothing special about the Thumrin, which is an older hotel. It is clean and satisfactory on the average. The best parking is off the hotel but around the front entrance in the public parking area, no charge. The breakfast buffet was more the adequate with quite a bit of variety. The only issue was the lack of hot water for showering. The water never was better than cool. We even called hotel services and requested a technician to assess why we were not getting any hot water. He came but indicated that "it was not like your home, this is what it is." So you have to live with a cool shower, which means in and out very fast!! The a/c took a while to cool down the room but was more than adequate while sleeping.

I need to stay at this hotel for several day . First impression is a biggest hotel in trang city . I read a negative reviewed before the trip so the hotel new synthetic wood floor impressed me on the first night . But later on there are a local , noisy people appear. The wall can’t block any noise and the local people smoked everywhere in the hotel despite the announcement of non smoking floor. When we notify the issue at the reception. They ask about room number and I told them every room around my room . I need to ask whether they’re a tourism ?? And the reception told me that they are a local ruler or mafia. The reception also deny us about changing the floor . Just want to alarm all foreigner or people from other part of Thailand not to choose this hotel . This will be my first and last time here.

I stayed at the hotel on April 13-16. I reserved a deluxe room with double bed, which was on the 15th floor. The room was big, TV was ok, but there were few channels and no switch available to English language. Air con worked good. Room had a musty odor though because of the old carpet. Sheets on the bed were very stiff and hard, like they don't use any fabric softener and/or the sheets are very old. The towels in the bathroom were equally hard and old. Many rooms were empty on the 15th floor, so I observed that the paint on bathroom doors of most were peeling, the wall in some rooms had a long water damage line. Breakfast was just basic and simple, not really worth Bt150/person (if you reserve through Agoda you have to pay yourself). I saw no evidence that there was a swimming pool, gym, sauna, etc. The hotel lobby looks much older and darker compared to the photo on the internet. I would rate everything between poor and average. I'll try the other higher-rated hotel next time.
