"Basic hotel, good value for your dollar."

8.0

I was only staying one night. I arrived late in the evening and, in advance, I had arranged through the hotel to have a taxi pick me up at the airport. This is likely the best option if you don't know Guayaquil or the hotel as the hotel is not easy to identify from the outside. It's a bit of an odd set-up -- having the 3rd and 7th floors in, what is otherwise, an office building. The entrance is locked at night. The taxi driver obviously called to let the staff member know that we were on route to the hotel as someone was waiting for me upon my arrival. I was shown to my room on the 3rd floor and also shown the dining area on the 7th floor where there is a fridge with water and other drinks including beer, offered on the 'honour' system. My room had a balcony which overlooked the main street; there was a bit of traffic noise but I did not find it too bad. I had a private bath (there are also rooms with shared bathrooms so you have to make sure you state what you want when you book). There were three beds in the room -- but I was charged only the single rate. A basic breakfast was included -- eggs cooked as you wish, toast, juice and tea or coffee (2nds not a problem). It's not Holiday or Hampton Inn but a good, less costly option.

"reasonable bargain for short stay"

the owner worked a few days and she was excellent. her employee staff was okay with tourist information and attention. reasonable walking distance to malecon and museums. the place is more 2 than 3 star. needs some renovation and improvements. more of a place for one or two nights.

"Good place to stay to see the city"

Very friendly and helpful staff. Facility a bit worn but other than that the hotel is close to all one would want to do in the city.

The staff were really friendly and nice, they try their best to help you. Excellent breakfast. Hot shower, comfortable bed. Clean and safe. The wifi does not work in the room but it´s just a few steps away in the lobby.

"Will go back."

10.0

Arrived in Guayaquil & spent 1 full day before our Peru trip. Even though we had booked a different hotel for our return to Guayas, that hotel didn't have our room. We called Casa de Romero and luckily Casa de Romero was about to accommodate us for the remainder of our trip. Staff was very nice & helpful, they went above and beyond in being accommodating to our needs. Loved the balcony & that it. Only drawback was traffic noise, but that is out of their control. Would definitely go back.

"So Nice I Stayed Twice"

10.0

Booked this hostel as bookends. Since my first experience, staying 4 nights was pleasant, I looked forward to returning for 1 more night in Guayaquil. The hostel uses a reliable taxi service for airport transfers, I highly recommend. The staff is wonderful, making sure you are taken care of and very friendly. Just be sure to bring earplugs as its on a busy street and Ecuadorians like their car horns.

"Comfortable stay"

10.0

This was my first time staying at a hostel and it was wonderful. The rooms are big, comfortable and clean with strong Wifi in common area. Staff is friendly and helpful. The location is in a busy downtown area, great for sight-seeing. Be aware though that this is a noisy area, all times of day, but I believe that it is just the way this city is. Car horns honking and garbage trucks are a all night disturbance. Bring earplugs they help. There is a supermarket across the street, a pastry shop next door, and a ATM one block down.

"Very helpful and friendly staff"

I arrived later in the evening, and staff welcomed me and helped me with my bags. They assisted me in getting a connecting shuttle to Cuenca. They were very friendly and accommodating.
