"First Hostel Experience"

8.0

My biggest surprise was the enthusiasm of the employees. Very nice and strong (six large suitcases). You read about the noise of downtown, but I was asleep by 10pm with background traffic that was not excessive.

"Great Location"

Great location, we were only walking distance from the cathedral, iguana's park, Malecon 2000 and las Penas... We were so surprise of the location and the price, cant beat that for an overnight stay!

"Safe comfortable stay for a reasonable price"

8.0

The staff was the great couldn't be better. The one thing that I had difficulty with was the photos on the web site were not accurate as they looked much better in the photos than the real thing.

"very accommodating"

8.0

We stayed with our 1.5-year-old for just one night. We were pleased with the customer service at the hostel and found them accommodating to our son. Quick and easy walk to the river.

"Safe and convenient location"

6.0

The staff in Casa de Romero are friendly and gracious. We arrived late at night having booked two niohts through Expedia. The staff had no record of the reservation but gave us a room for one night. Expeda didn't come through for me.

"Excellent"

8.0

If you've never been to Guayaquil, I highly recommend using the taxi service they provide. It makes things so much easier. The space was nice and surprisingly large. The room was on the third flood, and they streets below are incredibly noisy all night long, even for this city dweller. Make sure to bring ear plugs and you'll be a happy camper.

"Lovely and secure hotel"

Staff very helpful and can speak some English which is unusual in Ecuador and very useful when just starting a trip in a country. Rooms lovely and breakfast good.

"Good for staying for a night"

6.0

Close to Malecon 2000, nothing special but for the price is ok for somebody who will be out of the hostel and only stay for sleeping one or two nights.

"Good stop for transit"

8.0

We arrived in Guayaquil at 11pm so we wanted a nice and cheap place to stay before leaving for Cuenca the next morning. The hotel is close to the Malecon and it is easy to go to the major bus station with the city bus. Since you don't want to stay too long in Guayaquil, you don't want to stay too long at Casa de Romero neither.

"safe building"

6.0

Clean hotel and attentive staff. Nice girls help checked me in and organise taxi for early morning flight the next day. Unfortunately missed out on the cooked breakfast as very early morning flight but the nice boy let me use kitchen for toast jam coffee etc at 4am. Noisy at night however with boy on reception watching film very loudly just down the corridor, did not sleep well with the street noise too. Good location near Malecon however. Perhaps bit overpriced for service received.
