Hotel Smeraldo

Smaller than we expected en very noisy! But the view made it all good!!

Very unsatisfactory. You have to deal with the staff in Hotel La Paul at all times when staying in Smeraldo. Food awful, do not book in half board as one piece of fish with lemon slice is not adequate dinner. Despite my request to speak to manager after 1st night of stay nobody would contact me during my stay even on leaving. Family room on ground floor was plaqued with ants. I made two requests to try and remove them as best as possible. No coffee or milk ever left in room. Breakfast on first morning was poor and very poor service. Key system for hotel also never worked and I needed to attend reception at other hotel to gain entrance. This should not be 3 star. I would never stay here again.

We stayed here for 4 nights with our 1 year old and we loved it. The pictures do not do the view justice. It is beautiful! We were lucky to have a ground floor room with a little patio which was perfect for us with a baby. The rooms are basic but the location and view of the lake is perfect. We would spend the day sunbathing and playing on the grass by the lake. Then it's a short walk up to the castle and many restaurants. Breakfast was more that enough lots of options. Staff were friendly and so helpful. We made some great memories here with our 1 year old and would love to come back again one day!

Stayed here on recent trip to Sirmione with my family (2 adults, 2 children, 1 infant) to attend a wedding. Location is fantastic - outside the city walls about 10 minute walk to castle and main tourist area, bus also available outside the door. 10 minute walk in other direction gets you to beach/water sport area and lovely parks. Rooms are basic but really well serviced and so clean. Children's pool only but that suited us perfectly, larger pool across the road at main hotel- La Paul but we didn't use it. We had access to Lake and lovely green area with loungers. Breakfast was great, same most days but great coffee. You check in at La Paul and they do snacks and lunch there also we had lunch there one day and it was lovely. We were checked in by a lovely receptionist that was very friendly and gave us a list of good restaurants. Didn't see many more staff in Smeraldo as La Paul is main hotel but that didn't bother us. We had a problem with air con and it was sorted with in minutes by contacting main reception. Overall we found this a great base for our trip maybe not for anyone that likes to stay in hotel for entire trip. Would highly recommend hotel.

Nice hotel friendly staff, Great Lake views, comfy room and beds, just make sure you get two room keys, so you can leave one in all the time so air con and fridge stay on, only gripe I had was that the coffee was not always replaced, so didn't have a cup overlooking the gorgeous lake in the morning, but great holiday had.

Sirmione is a truly beautiful place. The hotel was perfectly located and provided everything you needed. Very clean and thr staff were very helpful.

Unser Aufenthalt war leider nicht so schön, wir hatten Ameisen im Zimmer und nach dem Zimmerwechsel auch noch kaputte Betten. Entenkot inklusive Enten im Pool, so dass der nicht zu benutzen war. Zum Glück waren wir nir eine Nacht da.

We enjoyed our stay in this Hotel. Nothing extraordinary just very simple Hotel. The main reason we booked - they offer HB basis. As you know is not very popular in Italy. Also we were travelling with 4 years old child and HB was very convenient. Location is great, not far from town centre and ferry (it just 10 minutes walk). Food was good. We did like the main course so far, desserts not to my taste. If you would like to add an extra vegetables or garnish you have to pay. Bottle of Still Water (1L) was about 2EUR. which we found very cheap :). The staff was very helpful. Only one thing we didn't like it as you can see town on a bike and Hotel had it but wasn't in good condition, as we had to skip it :(. I believe if they offer such a facility they have to check it first!!! Overall I would recommend this Hotel for people who are not expecting anything more than clean well located property.

Zimmerausstattung etwas in die Jahre gekommen, dennoch auffallend sauber !

Fantastisk service fra resepsjon. Frokost og kaffe var ikke noe særlig, og litt vedlikehold på rom trengtes. Alt i alt hadde vi et greit opphold.
