The Gables Inn

New bathrooms yes, but everything else was terrible. Don’t be fooled by reviews giving anything above a 1. Sheets and towels old, stained and yellow. Pillow had blood on it had to ask for new room. TV did not work, but I could hear the tv in the room beside me all night long. Absolutely a terrible place to stay and Hotels.com should be embarrassed to have this on their site. Was better off if I slept in my car. And yes the office still reeks of curry.

Likes: price, roomy shower, location and free parking Dislikes: stale smell, dated decor, uncomfortable bed and sheets, leaky toilet

We had booked for Two night stay....The room is Very cool....My children get Sick after one night Stay....Water Heater is not really Working at all and very Noisy in the night.. To Second night stay we afraid, we went back to Home Toronto in second Day evening.....Because afraid to sleep in the very cool room and my children will get sick more........*****But Owner family is very friendly and very kinds....They just need to repair The Room Heater..... Thank you.

Not a bad place for a night. The room was clean and the updated bathroom was nice, but other elements appeared to be a work in progress. Checking in was alright, but we couldn't find any staff to check out (the office was locked all morning, and the room phone didn't work, so we had to leave the key in the room and hope for the best).

We came in on a rainy night, needed a quick place for a short stay. The gal whom runs the motel is very friendly and sweet. The bathroom was totally renovated, new everything, even tub looked new. Very nicely done! The room looks like it has been painted but still needs some updating. The only reason I gave this score, crumbs on the carpet from previous customer. The carpet looked like it hadn't been vacuumed. No hair dryer, no shampoo, yes a no frills motel. We travel with those needed things anyway. Yes there were webs on exterior windows, the exterior and door need attention. Lots of places to eat nearby. This a good place to stay.

Staff pleasant room no complaints

Location was good and quiet. Enjoyed Sarnia and area but inn was subpar with no coffee maker, hairdryer etc. Room had very poor lighting and was shabby.

Room was okay, the bathroom huge and very clean.

Bedsheets were dirty and stained. Locks on door didnt work. Carpets were disgusting. Would not recommend staying here.

The first room we were given we refused to stay in. There were spiderwebs in the bathroom sink, tub, in the sleeping area, all with spiders in them. The room smelled horrible! The woman at the desk was very nice and gave us another room. It was a little better but still smelled and could definitely have been cleaner. If we had been spending more than one night we would have left. One positive the bathrooms had obviously been recently remodeled and were quite nice.
