The Gables Inn

Was nice place but deposit what double the room cost and still have not received it back yet so kinda upset about that

Crooks run this place. I chose to pay in cash. She wanted a little extra, more than the hotels.ca price was. Then a while after my stay I got an email from hotels.ca saying they were sorry that my plans changed. This means that the place tried to get away without paying hotels.ca their share. I will be notifying hotels.ca about this and gables Inn won't be getting away with this!

I've stayed here twice now with no complaints. This motel should have a higher rating. Owners are very nice. Towels and linens are clean and comfortable wifi and TV provided. Fridge air conditioner microwave. Everything you need for a few days

in the room there was a smell of curry too strong and the heating too low .. it was very cold

Was heading to London around 11pm but there was a snow storm so I pulled in to The Gables because I tired, it was the closest place and was somehow rated #3 on the Trip Advisor “value chart”(guess I won’t go by that any more!). On the Trip Advisor App it said $68 CDN, so fine $68 for the #3 value on TA not too shabby I guess. The woman comes out and says they have a room for $100 cash. I’m like it says $68 on the app. She says no that’s US funds(it wasn’t) How many 1* hotels charge $100?? After some haggling she went to $90, I was tired so accepted but I’m pissed. I could have went to the Days Inn for pete sakes, but it was late and they had me by the you know whats. Maybe that’s how they do business where they are from. So I get into the double queen room and it’s cold, the chairs are stained, I’m looking at cigarette burns in the bedding as I write this. I know, I know it’s a 1* motel your saying what do you expect? Fine I could live with the 1* room I basically just needed a place to crash and I was flying solo its not about that it’s about being disrespected and charged more then the Trip Advisor app said it was for a 1* dive because I was stuck and it was late at night. There was like 2 cars there. $100 cash she says, my ass. Who the hell writes these nice reviews?? So anyways I’d stay away from London Line motels all together and go to the downtown area by the water maybe the Harbour Front or something and get a decent room for the same price.

It was nice they gave us a kitchenette room which we didn’t book but enjoyed being able too cook, they have some full time residents there that really hurt their business from making it not enjoyable to sit outside , and loud with fights at night time

The carpet was not clean, something in the air made me sick. I got asthma. They did not made the bed the next day. I think this was a motel, on the Expedia site I did not notice that and I went with my mother, she was not comfortable with this hotel. Expedia should specify when it is a hotel or a motel Thank you

It was easy to find. Reasonably priced. Close to other amenities. Rooms were relatively clean. Lots of parking. Could use a few upgrades. All in all was a nice place to stay

Room was dirty, towels stained and overall unkept. Not sure if I was sleeping on a mattress or braided rope. Steps in winter from driveway to the front motel door was not shoveled.
