Insel Hotel

I had the most incredible stay at Insel Hotel Bad Godesberg Germany. The purpose of my visit was to celebrate my 60th Birthday. The hotel decor is beautiful and modern, with clean comfortable rooms. The hotel is situated in the middle of the quiet and quaint town with shops and restaurants, and a lovely park in walking distance. Breakfast was a spread of delicious delights. The staff was at all times extremely hospitable and pleasant. My boyfriend mentioned it was my birthday and upon arriving back to our room a beautifully wrapped package of champagne, chocolates and a rose was placed in the middle of our bed. I can't say enough about this hotel and I shall indeed return. I highly recommend Insel Hotel Bad Godesberg.

The hotel is in the suburbs but good located, lot of restaurants nearby. The room was not so super, small, bad bed, furnitures are a bit weathered, bathroom okay, but the worst was the big ventilation pipe with fan just outside the window, pretty loud. Breakfast was very good! Personnel was good except a Barkeeper. For the price acceptable.

This is a very decent hotel that is situated in a good location.

Stayed here for the DW global media forum this year. Fabulous restaurant, and waiters who offer you beer even when it is closed. Great friendly service. When I arrived early, receptionist saw I was tired and offered me Sauna room to rest - I chose to have lunch and beer which was excellent. Breakfast was 5 star. Room comfortable

Returned to the Insel after a 30-year break to find it upgraded and modern. However, our double room was stifling; the only 'air conditioning' was a small fan which just pushed the hot air around. Also, the shower cubicle was the smallest ever.

Very good for business people attending Kolnmesse but not wanting to pay Cologne prices. About 35 minutes by train to the venue. Very polite staff and a good breakfast.

Night stop on business Good wifi, parking and close to local shops, breakfast was excellent Only down side was the thin summer duvet in January was rather cold

I have stayed at the Insel a few timed and enjoy every moment of it

I have stayed here three times when visiting Bonn for work. The first time I stayed almost 3 weeks, the second time about 1 1/2 weeks and the third time almost 3 weeks. The rooms are clean, small and basic. The breakfast is nice but not elaborate and eating the same thing morning after morning does become a chore. There is a severe shortage of irons/ironing boards so make sure to request one when checking in although this is no guarantee that one will be made available immediately. The staff for the most part are nice but I did encounter one very rude guy at reception and one rude housekeeping staff member. The latter I never saw again after my first trip. The former was still there on my third and I came very close to losing my temper with him. The location is convenient and I prefer it to Bonn because of the variety of foods- there is Turkish/Kurdish/Arabic among others to choose from.

I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel. The town of Bad Godesberg is a little sleepy now that all of the embassy folk seem to have relocated to Berlin (assume this happened many years ago but I haven't been back here in a while) but this hotel is very nice for this area. The staff were extremely nice and helpful.
