Insel Hotel

Stayed here twice this year. About 18 nights in the first instance and about 9 in the second. Convenient, adequate, serves its purpose. Small room and bathroom but clean, tidy. Breakfast is a spread of breads, cheeses, meats, boiled eggs, pastries, fruit and cereals. The first time I stayed, I encountered a few rude employees who did not seem to think my need to iron my clothes before work was important but after complaining the matter was settled. This place is not luxurious but it suits its purpose if you are in Bonn for business and need a comfortable, clean place to stay. It is also conveniently located near a number of food places which serve a variety of dishes. This is crucial for someone like me who is not a fan of bland German food.

Very pleasant , the staff the breakfast and the location ..it was affordable.

simply put... everything you would expect out of a typical European hotel, simple clean. relative to an American like me, it was a bit on the smaller side.

I had a good stay. Pros: Nice clean room, free beer in room, free water in room, nice breakfast, friendly staff. Cons: Room too hot, light came into room via glass door in bathroom, small gym. Also my colleague had to pay for parking even though my booking said 'free parking' He is going to dispute it.

The car park was under constrction the room was unexpectdly small and has no veiw howevere the hotel was clean and the staff are wellcoming and friendly

We chose this hotel because it included car parking. However when we arrived the car park was out of use because it was being re-surfaced.We hadto park some distance away at a cost of 15euros per night. When we complained the staff just shrugged it off. Another problem was that we could hear the people in the next room including having a lengthy phone conversation at4.30am on our first night.

Great hotel, less than five minute walk from the U-Bahn, good quality rooms and friendly atmosphere. Free wifi and good breakfast with a supermarket nearby. Good value and being in the centre is near to restaurants and a McDonalds if you want a quick takeaway.

Construction going on very noisy too early. Ability to locate hotel and parking very difficult and stressful. Not located in Bonn as advertised.

The room was small, tastefully decorated, and I was most impressed with the shower. After 6 hours of travel, the hot, heavy pressure of the shower was most welcome. Buffet breakfast the next morning: a wide assortment of quality choices, perhaps a bit overpriced for Bonn.
