"Very cute - lovely location."

10.0

A short taxi ride from the bus station. It is a lovely place full of ambience that one would expect of chef. The in house restaurant was a "Godsend" as we were there durning Eid and everything else was closed, unlike in our hometown Kuwait. The scenery from the property is lovely and the room bright and colourful within the Chef style, Enjoyed the hotel very much and will most definately come back there if we visit Chef again.

"Riad Dar Enchchauoen-Beautiful Surroundings"

8.0

Overall we were very happy with our stay at Riad Dar Enchchaouen. The Riad itself was beautifully decorated in traditional Morroccan style with comfortable rooms and stunning communal areas, a lovely tented area by the pool for when it's hot and a cute area with open fireplace by the restaurant for when it's cold. The staff were friendly and helpful and overall this Riad has a great atmosphere. My only complaints would be that the showers in our room were unreliable and often there was no hot water at all. Also the restaurant menu, like the food in Chefchauoen in general was very limited. Great hotel with a great location nestled in the mountains but still very close to the town. I'd definatley recommend this Riad, but just be aware of the problems with the showers.

"Short walk from medina, garden has great views"

2.0

This hotel has been cleverly designed in the traditional decorative style but with comfortable western style beds and shower rooms fitted into the space. Parking on the road outside is guarded by an attendant, but not signed, entry is by a door in the wall to steps up to the hotel, so it was difficult to find relying on the photographs and directions! (There do not seem to be reliable maps in Morocco). There are plenty of steps, so it would be unsuitabe for anyone with mobility problems. Initial check in was distinctly unfriendly but all later staff encounters were very pleasant and English seemed to be spoken by many staff members. We booked a 'suite ' - the first one we were put in overlooked the reception building with people passing by the windows each side. For any privacy we would have had to keep the thick curtains drawn. They changed us to two floors up, with no difficulty, where there was a truly magnificent view. the rooms were the same. They have a garden and small swimming pool with a wonderful view of the mountains, where it was a pleasure to sit. There was a large and beautiful open sided tent provided, doubtless for shade, the day we were there it rained nearly all day but since the temperature was still warm we were still able to sit outside and enjoy the (slightly clouded ) view. Breakfast is included in the price, traditional Moroccan with pancakes, bread and muffin type rolls with honey or jam and excellent coffee. It can be eaten on traditional indoor couches or outside at tables. We ate out for main meals. I would recomend this hotel to people who did not want to stay in the more confined space of the medina but enjoyed traditional Morrocan style- other gusts seemed to be Moroccan, American and French when we were there
