"Good hotel, great value, clean and helful staff"

8.0

I really enjoyed my stay at Dar Echchaouen, the room was sizable and clean. The hotel is set in a picturesque part of town towards the mountain. The staff are really nice and friendly and helpful in assisting you in anything you need ;) I would highly recommenced taking a taxi from the coach station (should be no more than 20 MAD). The pool was closed when we visited, but this was expected being off season

"Stay here for the views and the flowers!!"

10.0

This place was absolutely gorgeous. Super attention to detail!! At 8am a gardener was outside my door pruning and the women who cleaned dthe room mopped everything even though I was staying multiple days. Food was reasonably priced with option to eat in room. The pool and the views are incredible!! Abdul in particular was not only attentive and caring but fun as well. He went above and beyond. I had an accident and he came in on his day off just to help me out. The other staff seemed to get overwhelmed easily but did try to help. The hotel is kind of above the town and the Medina and there are a bunch of steps but other than that an incredible place to stay

"Good sleep in a beautiful place"

8.0

Beautiful property. We really enjoyed the location. I am a light-sleeper, but it wasn't a problem. As is usually the case in Morocco, the breakfast consisted of bread and more bread, so plan to get some protein for lunch.

"beautiful but not comfortable"

6.0

Hotel is beautiful with a good view on the hill. Hotel staffs are not that friendly when I checked in. Many hotel provide mint tea when people arrived but this didn't, so we not feeling welcome. The swimming pool is beautiful with a very good view but it is too dirty!!!!! I really want to swim but it is too dirty with many different kinds of insect, I can't see anyone swim. The room is too cold for sleep even in June and the heater is not heat. I have try to call the hotel before I went there but the number seem not work and no one reply your email if you send to them. I leave in the early morning so there is no breakfast.

"One of the best you'll get in chefchaouen"

8.0

The hotel is far from the medina but it's definitely a nice option as we checked out quite a few hotels here. Things are a bit worn but overall not a bad place.

"picture perfect view"

10.0

This place was our first stop in Morocco after getting off the Ferry. We arranged with the hotel to have a driver pick us up from the ferry and drop us off at the riad. Our first impression of the Riad was amazing! Considering we've never been to Morocco it was up on the hill that overlooked the main part of town. Our room was next to the pool that had such an amazing view of the town. The room was quaint and perfect size for us as we weren't planning on staying in the riad all day. We enjoyed the breakfast in the front yard with the sweetest kittens and the food was delicious the different breads they had.

"Excellent hotel on the hill above town"

10.0

Terrific hotel, great value. Very warm and inviting restaurant. We only had the hotel breakfast there, which was a good selection of traditional Moroccan breads, with great jams and honey and fresh goat cheese -- a step above the usual riad breakfast in Morocco. Everyone was very helpful at the hotel and arranged for an early morning cab ride so we could catch our 7 am bus. They do take credit cards. Location is good for sightseeing and hiking: easy walk into the medina or a quick walk up the hill to Ras el Ma and on to the Spanish mosque and the mountains beyond. There are good trails you can follow from the mosque to nearby villages and up the mountains beyond the town.

"Great little hotel"

10.0

This is a great little place. The staff in the hotel is super friendly and accommodating. The food is delicious, including the breakfast. It's not a fancy western hotel, but very cute and located right outside of the medina.
