Extremely dated and tired in rooms outside of main building blinds won’t open close bathrooms paint peeling side panels blowing with moisture floor sagging can’t comment on other areas breakfast ok and adequate but you can see the cut backs as all hotels are having to do with costs , parking at multi car park but expensive worth thinking of train journeys ? Have stayed at this hotel 4 times in 6 years and you can definitely see the difference unfortunately for worse reinvestment needed to bring standards up

Kleine kamer, aan de oude kant. Badkamer nogal oud, veel slijtage te zien. Eea werkt niet zo soepel meer.

Hotel’s location is excellent, the staff are really helpful and friendly and the breakfast was good. The public areas were all very clean, comfortable and welcoming.

We booked a small double room because we had stayed there last year and the small double we were given then was very comfortable, quiet, clean and met all our needs. This time, however, the room we were allocated was a bit old and tired, there was an electrical socket hanging off the wall in the en-suite, the mirror light in the en-suite didn’t work so it was gloomy in there, and the shower cubicle was old and grubby. We tried to book a meal in the dining room one evening, but were told there was a bus party in and we could not be accommodated, despite having been offered a meal deal when we made our hotel booking. However, we slept very well each night and, although we overlooked a busy road, were not disturbed by outside noise.

Our room was booked 6 months before our travel. When we arrived - air con was not working - the hotel had known about this for a while but failed to tell us and on hottest night of year we were left with one tiny fan that we had to ask for. We asked another fan and were told yes, but it never arrived. Very unhappy, as this spoilt our stay, we did not sleep well and had a big journey the next day. The manager told us she would arrange a refund but it has failed to arrive and I am chasing, which I should not have to do!!!

Room was so small. Unable to walk around the bed. Expected more from a Hilton

The communal areas, friendly staff and breakfast were good.

The room was of very poor standard. Unpleasant smell, badly decorated and no ceiling light working in room- I did report this to reception. Not what I would expect from the Doubletree brand.

At first we were placed in a highly unsuitable room up very steep stairs. The room was very small with one chair and broken table and was totally depressing. We were on our way for a refund when we met a senior memember of staff who found us a more acceptable room.

Given the high price of the hotel, I expected a much better standard of accommodation and felt that the quality of the rooms did not reflect the price being charged. Unfortunately, the rooms were disappointing. The floorboards were missing in certain areas, which gave the room a run-down appearance. The bathroom sink would not drain properly, causing water to build up. While the shower itself was adequate, the bathroom was not particularly clean, and the half shower screen meant that water ended up all over the bathroom floor after use. The noise levels were also a major issue. The walls seemed extremely thin, and you could hear virtually everything happening in the surrounding rooms and corridors. Other guests were not being particularly noisy, but the lack of soundproofing meant that even people simply walking past sounded as though they were entering the room. The location of this hotel is excellent, with only a short walk into the city centre.
