The Talbot Inn

Breakfast was good but no yoghurts that didn't have sweetner and no croissants on offer. Liked the location. Friendly, helpful staff. Extremely clean rooms with lovely comfy beds. I have to say once the noise died down from below I slept like a log and slept right through the night which I never do so thank you.

Rooms not near to eachother as requested. Room 10 heater appeared to be malfunctioning. On booking in the room wasn't very warm. Also bed hadn't been split as requested and a camp bed had been put up which wasn't suitable for my tall 16 year old granddaughter. Following my complaint I was inforned it would be 'sorted'. On return to the room later that evening the bed had been split but the room was now overly hot. The heater temperature was immediately turned down but remained extremely hot 23°c all night so their sleep wasn't good as they were too hot. I just think the heater needs looking at. Rooms 4 & 6 were excellent although door number needs painting on door as we couldn't find it and wasn't shown to rooms 4 and 6. He did show my daughte and granddaughter how to get to room 10 as Tom, the Manager, said it was outside in a different block.

We stayed in room 5 directly above the front door, was noisy at pub closing time. Also old single pain glass windows so Zero sound proofing from the road outside.
