Epchris House

Beautiful place, tastefully decorated, the room was spacious and the bed very comfortable and the gardens were stunning. The owner Cath, a lovely lady, came out to meet us and gave us some pointers on restaurants. We took her advice and booked Giovanni & Lucia a lovely Italian in town. The breakfast, served in your room, was substantial and perfectly cooked, would definitely stay again.

Suppose after finding the booking on Booking.com for £80 and then choosing a King sized bed the price increased to £107.00, however Cath did say we could arrive from 12 which we didn’t manage to do as we were wandering around ilfracombe. The walk into town is down hill, about 15 mins, the walk back obviously isn’t as easy

Stunning gardens, great location & immaculately clean. The beds are comfy and the breakfast delivered to our door each morning was incredible! The host is lovely and welcoming & can make a mean chocolate brownie!

The parking can be tricky but nothing a-bit of parallel parking can’t fix!

An absolute gem. The owners made us feel so welcome and had great communication. Room was lovely and the breakfast was amazing, absolutely enjoying it outside on the terrace in the sun. Very much hoping to return

A very memorable stay with Cath. From our arrival we were welcomed to a beautiful and well-maintained Epchris house. The room was spacious and comfy. A bar and lounge area even with an Xbox and table tennis and pool, plus who could say no to delicious cake baked daily? (and thank you for kindly letting us peek at the recipe!) Cath was always on hand to provide helpful tips and dinner recommendations and made us feel right at home, even supplying all the room dairy alternatives etc. Breakfasts served in room were delicious and such a treat, and in general Ilfracombe was the perfect base for our day trips west to Clovelly, Croyde and others, and east across Exmoor to Dunster, Lynton and Lynmouth. We enjoyed dinner and strolling through Ilfracombe itself and would definitely return next time we’re in the area. Thank you Cath and team!
