Lake Road House

I didn't get to stay in the property due to the unprofessional threatening behaviour of the landlord.

Staff on reception lovely. Upgraded our room due to it being our anniversary. Room exceptionally clean. Good view. Liked the idea we could help ourselves to extra milk. And there were extra toilet rolls of needed

Breakfast looked lovely but not much taste. No one on reception to thank when we checked out

Warm welcome at reception. Very good breakfast menu. Breakfast and table service were excellent.

Minor points: The TV was in an awkward location on the wall. Fridge available on landing but discovered it was not plugged in when we needed to use it.

We had a lovely room, with tea and coffee facilities. Fantastic view over the hills. Great breakfast, with lots of variety, especially for vegetarians. Holly and Ivan were friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended.

No it was all good.

Spacious room on the top floor with lovely views from comfy chairs to the fells. Enormous bathroom with a bath and big shower. Delicious breakfast, especially my bacon in a floury bap. 2 minute walk to the town centre through the underpass, where there are lots of places to eat and drink, and 5 minute walk to the lake which has some nice footpaths round about. There is free parking on the road outside if you’re lucky, or 2 big car parks close by.

Quite expensive but we did have a deluxe room, which lived up to its name, and it was the best hotel we’ve stayed in for a while. Bit of a climb up the stairs to the top floor but worth it for the view.
