Holiday Inn Express Chengdu Wuhou by IHG-Wuhou Temple and Jinli

Not far from the airport which is really good. Check In Painful and slow we arrived around 3pm a family of 6. The guy spoke hardly any English. Room We had two rooms they were good clean and well maintained. My kids had a triple bed which was massive and great. Me and the wife had a double bed. I did like the room Breakfast we left too early for breakfast. But they did provide us a take away which was rubbish a small yoghurt pot, apple and a mini croissant. Taxi From airport I took a dodgy guy who charged us 200 rmb. Which was a total rip off. Considering the hotel arrange us for 80 rmb. Concierge There is no concierge when I asked they had to call another lady called Emmile (I think). She came back and was very good in arranging taxis for us and telling us where to go. Overall Good hotel; good location to the airport; rubbish take away breakfast and needs staff who can speak a little more English.

Average hotel - Very expensive laundry charges. Staff don't smile...Probably my least favorite hotel during my recent China trip. On the bright side, the hotel is located close to a metro station and there are restaurants & shops located a short walk from the hotel.

I use my American Express Card to guarantee the room, and request to pay the room rate of RMB899 in local currency. However, the Hotel says that it has deducted my payment from my American Express Card, so that I can not pay my hotel charge in local currency, RMB. This is not good. I have chosen to pay higher rate, 10% more per night to have the privilege to pay my hotel bill in local currency. It does not happen this time. Please check what happens. Thanks. Hotel requirements met expectations but staff coould smile more. Translation was a big issue as the english was poor!!

We stayed here for 2 nights during our flight from Chengdu to Lhasa. The hotel ist good located and the next Metro Station is Just a few minutes away (Number 3). Also a Supermarket, Cash mashines and Restaurant are around the hotel. The rooms are very nice and the Staff is friendly. The breakfast ist mostly chinese breakfast but You will get some Toast, cereals, Coffee and fruits and jam.
