Holiday Inn Express Chengdu Wuhou by IHG-Wuhou Temple and Jinli

因為是搭晚上到的班機，入住已是晚餐後，明天一早又要趕車，所以就短暫停留而言，其實也沒很多時間好好體驗這間飯店；只覺得入住程序有點慢，前台大排長龍，要嘛人手吃緊、要嘛入住手續過於繁複。

I stayed for 15 days. Staff was friendly. Breakfast variation was limited but was good. Room was good. I did have some difficultly setting the temperature, but it wasn't a big deal. Overall my stay was very enjoyable.

Decent location, room reasonably furnished, good rate, ok breakfast, friendly staff.

Very nice, comfortable room. I am allergic to feathers and they were kind to change out my pillows and down comforter. Great breakfast each morning. Only complaint would be regulating the room temperature. Someone came and worked on it and it was fine but then somehow it changed ??

As IHG you obtain better benefits as late evening dessert just remember to order at front desk a day before or early morning same day. They also offer refreshment soda upon arrival. The room is decent and no major complaints a bit tear and wear but the staff does as much possible to ensure a comfortable stay. Breakfast is really nice and was included in my stay. Western style is very basic but the Chinese style had a nice variety.

The good: (1) Good service staff - manager on duty was always smiling and she was always willing to help with anything that we need; front desk staff was efficient, concierge was always ready to hail us a taxi. (2) Room and toilet was large compared to some of the other hotels that we have stayed in. All the amenities are available. (3) Convenient travel options - located on Second ring road (二环), so it is easy to hail a taxi; Metro is just round the corner (which provide convenient access to JingLi, Panda Base and the bullet train stations); direct buses to JingLi. (4) Multiple local eateries behind the hotel all the way to the Metro station (thanks to the sweet manager on duty who revealed this to us). (5) Good comfortable bed and pillows. (6) Quiet room (stayed on 12th floor). The not-so-good: (1) It's winter and I'm glad that the heater works. However, the room was too warm and I can't turn the heat down no matter how I fiddle with the temperature control on the wall. Had to open the windows to cool the room down, but the air pollution was terrible when I went (heavy pollution fog) so it wasn't a pleasant experience. (2) Breakfast spread is pretty bland.

The room was comfortable, the staff were courteous and prompt, and the location was perfect for my trip.

I stayed at this hotel twice in the past two weeks. Once for 5 nights and then again for 1 night after other travels before returning back to Korea. Using an online site I made a mistake booking the hotel and booked my room for the night after I needed it. The room was fully paid for and there was no option for a refund from the site I understand most sites don't offer changes without paying an additional charge, but after having already stayed at this hotel for 5 nights I thought the hotel itself would be able to allow me to stay the night before with the booking I had but they would not. I was forced to pay again for the room and lost the money for my booking the following night. In addition, this was a couple days after the national holiday and the hotel was not fully booked so I could have easily taken a vacant room. I think this showed very poor customer service by the hotel staff and was very disappointing. During my 2 weeks of travel I spent a total of 9 days staying at 2 different Holiday Inns (Chongqing and Chengdu) but with customer service like this I don't expect to use the Holiday Inn in the future. In addition, after paying for the room, I was given a room with a shower that was poorly constructed. The door could not be opened if the shower nob was turned on or facing a certain way. It made pre-warming the shower impossible as I had to be in the shower with the door closed to operate it.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Wuhou with my parents and my two little girls (3, 1) for three nights in early April. We were very pleased with the hotel. It was very affordable, comfortable and clean and breakfast was included, which was very convenient. The breakfast had a good range of options available including several cold cereals, two kinds of melon, fried eggs, noodle soup, two kinds of Chinese steamed buns, rice porridge, bacon, sausage, several Chinese hot side dishes, croissants, doughnuts and white sliced bread (toaster available) with butter and jam. There were two coffee machines that made hot, black coffee and heated milk was available as well as black tea and several fruit juices. There is a small children's play area in the corner of the dining area. We chose the table next to the play area all three mornings! It was a blessing to have that area available for the girls to enjoy while we had as leisurely of a breakfast as we wished. The hotel had two baby cots/cribs available and I borrowed one for my 1 year old free of charge. The hotel staff were kind and helpful. They do not speak much English, but they spoke more English than I do Mandarin and they tried their best to help me whenever I asked a question. We took taxis from the hotel to the places we wished to visit and paid between 12 and 35 yuan to get to most places. The giant panda breeding and research base is located north of the city, but it only took us 25-30 minutes/65-75 yuan to get there.

This hotel is located on a major ring road, so the location isn't pretty. There also isn't much in the surrounding area. However it is fairly good for public transport. The hotel itself is pretty standard for this brand in China. The rooms are comfortable enough, there are a couple of English TV stations, and the Internet is OK. However the carpets seem a little grubby. The free buffet breakfast never changed in my 9 day stay and includes such delights as shaved carrot. There is enough to make a reasonable breakfast though. On the plus side, the staff are generally friendly, but overall, there are better hotel choices in Chengdu.
