"Homely hotel, great central location"

10.0

Welcoming. Great and old stay again when we go up to the Arctic Circle again. They even sell cider! Now you don't always find that on your travels. Good buffet breakfast, strangely served in the pub/bar area. Rooms warm and clean and comfy. With a fridge and kettle. Probably had an iron too, but try to avoid ironing if I can!

"Great pub-hotel in Kiruna"

10.0

Excellent location, just five minutes from the central bus station. Great food available in the pub downstairs. Free parking and free Wi-Fi. Noise was no issue even though we slept on the first floor right above the pub. Breakfast is tasty, the rooms nice and clean and the pub downstairs by far the best watering hole in Kiruna. Plus they do great burgers and steaks.

"Don't stay in Kiruna- go to Abisko or Ice hotel"

6.0

All the water in Kiruna has this nasty chemical smell- you have to wonder when there are signs everywhere saying "our water is drinkable!". People seem run down- I wasn't imagining it, a bartender who had moved there a year before said the same thing and begged me not to judge Sweden by this town. The hotel was fine, more space than others though lacking in all the little things like a tea kettle in the room, phone in the room, etc. People in the hotel were friendly and nice, the breakfast wasn't the freshest and the bed was uncomfortable. But seriously, the town has nothing to offer- it's a mining town. Go to Abisko- they have dogsledding, skiing, nature trails, the sky station, nature center, etc. Clean, non-chemical smelling water, gorgeous mountain views from the dining area. Kiruna doesn't offer anything worthwhile city-wise and it just feels awful. If you can afford it stay at the ice hotel. SO WORTH IT. And they have a cheap shuttle to the airport, warm rooms, very friendly, beuatiful, interesting place, though all the tour stuff (dogsledding, etc. is double/triple the price in Kiruna and Abisko.

"the perfect bishop"

8.0

the room is clean and comfortable. We enjoyed staying in the room after our outdoor activities. location is good to the town center and bus station. We felt that the hotel staff can be a little bit more friendly and responsive, and that will be perfect. the drinks in the pub is great.

"Very comfortable beds!"

Incredibly comfortable and warm rooms, basic in the sense there was no mini bar or tea and coffee in the room but very clean.

""Good Location for Winter Activities""

8.0

Great location, just around the corner from the airport bus stop and close to town centre shops and restaurants. The rooms themselves are above a shopping centre and there's no recption desk as such, you just check in at the pub then get a key card which allows you to access the rooms via an elevator in the mall. This is the only drawback to this hotel- the 'reception' is only open during pub hours and the staff are doubling up as bar staff. It seems to be a very popular venue with local people, especially on weekends, and the staff are clearly there to pull pints rather than manage the hotel. They're pleasant but not that helpful, for example we requested an additional pillow but couldn't have one as the rooms were all booked- I've never been to a hotel that has the exact number of pillows as guests! Other than this it's a good base for sampling the local winter activities. It's one of the cheaper local options and it's fairly basic- no tea/coffee making facilities, for example- but it is comfy and warm, and there were no problems with noise from the pub or the shopping centre. Breakfast is included and the showers were one of the highlights- really powerful, just what you need after a day in the cold weather.
