Hotel Bishops Arms Kiruna

Lovely comfy room but staff could have been a bit friendlier and helpful. Couldn't get a table to eat in the restaurant (I say restaurant, it's just a pub). Don't expect much for breakfast.

This was the perfect stay for one night before going to the Ice Hotel 20km away. Although you wouldn't expext a pub to be a hotel I can highly recommend it. It's just about 3 years old, all rooms are very modern. Being in the middle of Kiruna is very convenient. It was extremely quiet.

Great hotel well located in the city center of Kiruna. Rooms were clean and fresh. Reception open hours can be a bit inconvenient for some travellers but for me was not a problem.

Excellent location, there's supermarket and local shopping mall. Very clean and spacious room with very friendly and helpful hotel staff plus free parking cross the street. Hotel can consider to install a room key drop box for guests to check out while the reception is closed. Overall we had a good stay here!

Nice clean hotel. It has a bar/reception that makes this hotel unique, I mean, the reception itself is an irish pub, the only downside of this is that when the bar is closed there is no way to get any help or information from the reception. The rooms don't have a phone.

Remember that this northern town still operates the largest open cast iron ore mine in the world. This town is built by / upon and lives for the mine. If you come to the pub for the beers and want to spend the night then it's OK. But only just !!

Everything was fine. Only minus point: restaurant a bit to expensive. We recommend the hotel and the pub.

It may seem a bit quirky to find a hotel above a shopping complex with the reception in a pub, but this is not an issue. The room was spacious and clean, also quiet. The breakfast provided was satisfactory. A couple of points: it appears you can check in from 12 noon, except on Sundays when it's 4pm. Secondly, if travelling by train as I was, the train station is not walking distance from the hotel as shown on the map: it has been moved about 1km north of the town. But there is a free shuttle bus that meets arriving trains and runs to/ from the bus station.

Kiruna, Sweden. 1. couldn´t find reception and had to go upstairs and downstairs with all of our luggage until I found a bartender in the restaurant. 2. room was cold and the staff told me that it was impossible to regulate inside room since it was controlled through a main system. 3. the entrance key was disactivated before checkout and we couldn´t get back inside to get our luggage for the flight. The sign suggested calling however we don´t have a European cell. When someone else called in for us, there was no answer. 4. a guard came eventually and his card did not work either. 5. Room did not open either and we were very tight on time since it took almost an hour to get into the room. 6. Staff told us that no bus was available on a Sunday to go to airport, so we booked a taxi. Sure enough, when pulling in from our more expensive ride to departures, there is a local bus. 7. Wrote to them appraising them of poor experience; still waiting for a response.

The only place to have dinner in Kiruna at the weekend (pretty literally) and bar the odd double room which was two beds pushed together (not attached) it was a lovely experience.Set an alarm for 1am to hear the mining explosions.
