Review for Hotel Citrus Hikkaduwa. ​Subject: Fantastic ocean and perfect location, but the hotel itself needs improvement ​Review: The main treasure of this place is its nature. The hotel is located in a perfect spot: there are many restaurants and souvenir shops nearby, all within walking distance. The ocean is simply magical. Due to frequent tides, you can observe incredible marine life right by the shore—we saw moray eels, sea urchins, and even sea turtles! This made our vacation truly unforgettable. ​Territory and Cleanliness: The hotel grounds are very well-maintained and clean; the grass is always green and lush. A special thank you to the cleaning service—the rooms are cleaned perfectly. There is never any sand on the floor, and the room smells fresh after every cleaning. The staff at the reception and in the dining area are also very friendly and helpful. ​Points for improvement (Cons): • ​Room Condition: The rooms are in poor shape. The furniture is worn out, plaster is peeling off the walls, the toilet is unstable, and the shower leaks. A renovation is long overdue. • ​Food: The food is very specific. It might be difficult for a European stomach to adjust, and finding something tasty can be quite a challenge. • ​The Bar: The cocktails are disappointing; they taste nothing like the originals. The bartenders are slow and often "forget" to return change, clearly waiting for tips. • ​Service and Animation: Most sunbeds are reserved by the staff early in the morning for their "preferred" clients. The pool animation at 10:00 AM has nothing to do with real water aerobics. The animator, Dominic, is quite pushy—he constantly asks guests to smile for his phone camera and then asks for the guests' phones to write positive reviews about himself. ​Summary: If your priorities are a great location, a clean room, and swimming with turtles, you will enjoy it here. However, be prepared for outdated rooms and subpar service at the bar and in animation.

We are from Kazakhstan. We really enjoying Dammi! He is the best trainer, he works in this hotel and has a nice volleyball programme. We will come again only for him. Although it was very nice hotel with good breakfast but there was an accident in my room! 100$ were stolen from my room and the same situation happened with other couple from Russia.

We stay at citrus Hikkaduwa with my family and had a wonderful experience. The staff were friendly and welcoming; and food was Delicious. Specially like to menshion the front office team - Ms.Ishara Viraj Malsha who were very kind and always took good great care for us. And alsho menshion cashire Tinusha. He is very good person.
